People do not only have different singing voices. Their voices’ ranges are also different. To sing well, make sure that you are able to measure how high or low your voice can go. That’s the way to avoid notes that your voice could not sing clearly right.
Alfred, Your break is perfectly normal. It’s called “the pssaggio”. The way to fix the break is to train your voice with vocal technique the build strength in the pssaggio or “break” area. Two Octave Scales: Provides maximum stretch on the vocal folds. Start in a low pitch and gently glide up the scale on a “me” sound. Don’t push the top or bottom of your range but do try to increase the range gently each time you do the scales. Now reverse and glide down the scale from the top to the bottom on an “e” sound. You can try this on the “oo” sound also.
Relax. Don’t discourage him from practicing “because he’s going to learn bad habits.” That’s like saying to a kid who wants to play basketball, “don’t practice before you make the team, because you’re going to teach yourself bad habits.” Actually having practiced before seeing a teacher will make what the teacher says make a lot more sense/have relevance/be easier to learn. – bobobobo Jun 3 ’12 at 1:37
Sirens/Kazoo Buzz: Improves the resonant focus of the sound and continues work with maximal stretch on the vocal folds. The mouth postures are easily made by pretending you are sucking in spaghetti with an inhalation. On exhalation make the “woo” sound. It will be a buzz like sound. Hold the sound steady for 2-3 attempts. Now use the woo sound to go up and down the scales.
All singing is produced on vowel sounds. Consonants don’t have pitch. Some consonants like M and N are produced through a pitched hum – but that is not exactly singing. You need to work on what goes on in singing vowel sounds with your body.

Lots of singers, even professionals, take singing lessons because they experience pitch problems.  They are easy fixed with this vocal approach.   If your musical ear is fine, the issue is with one or more of the following:  1.  Lack of correct breath support.  2. Presence of moving vowels or lack of gradations.  3. Singing of improper or heavy consonants.
If you can’t find any teacher or you are too shy to sing through it, try to practice singing with your friend who loves to hear you sing or loves singing. Ask them to come to your home and go practice in a small room and keep on doing it till you’ve done it for five or six months. It really does help.

A. To a certain extent. And to a certain extent it’s a PR myth. This is how I like to answer that “born with it or not question”…the best and bravest singers are singers first, and students of singing later. Kids who like to sing never shut -up and therefore they grow. The intuitive development gained by singing throughout childhood, i.e. vocal strength, timing, an ear for harmony, and an ear for matching instruments cannot be made up for later- unless they perhaps master a musical instrument as a child. Good singing is more than a great sounding voice. This is why there are successful pros who may not have the most amazing tone, but really take the house down.
Since one set is for male singers and another set is for female singers, this vocal training will work best for those who want to learn how to sing or to improve their singing voice. On one hand, male vocalists usually need to warm up longer because they have a much wider vocal range within their chest voice compared to females.
