I definitely understand where you are coming from. I couldnt hit high notes with good tone literallu a few weeks ago. Now that I know how to sing more correct I can definitely understand her anologies. Singing is hard to teach, I imagine because people are stubborn lol
This schedule will develop your singing muscles (provided you are practicing proper technique). As they continue to get stronger, your voice will get better and better. You will continue to find new high and low notes. Your voice will begin to function as one instrument, not two or three separate instruments.
A very useful framework for practising vocal control is solfa (a.k.a. “solfege” or “do re mi”). This is a system where you give a name to each note in the scale, which makes it easier to understand which note you’re aiming for each time you change pitch.
3 stars because it doesn’t always work… all the sudden my pitch won’t show up on the screen…. that it kind of the whole point. This seems to be because of a sort of crackling that makes it try to decide between a really low pitch or high pitch and it ends up just giving up. I would blame this on the headphones, but they’re from Apple and do very clear audio recordings. Or it just won’t work at all. There are several great range exercises to try as you’re working on scales. These exercises should be part of your warm-up before working on an actual vocal piece. You can find many different warm-up exercises in between singing classes on YouTube.
Once you get the hang of extending the vowel sound focus on listening to the qualities of it – eg. volume (can you produce loud or soft?); pitch range (can you make the sound high or low?); pitch constancy (can you hold one pitch? Can you visit other pitches in the same breath?)
Your voice is part of your whole body and it’s affected by the movement of surrounding muscles. You need to make sure your posture is correct, and that the supporting muscles, incuding shoulders and neck are relaxed and warm, otherwise you could strain your voice, and risk injury.

Lip Trills: Release lip tension and connects breathing and speaking. Releases tension in the vocal folds. Place your lips loosely together release the air in a steady stream to create a trill or raspberry sound. First try it on an “h” sounds. Then repeat on a “b” sound. Hold the sound steady and keep the air moving past the lips. Next try to repeat the b-trill gliding gently up and down the scales. Don’t push beyond what it comfortable at the top or bottom of the scale.
A. You are not alone in that wish. If you have a creative bone in your body, you’ll feel this way. You need to interview prospective voice teachers and tell them this. Being a rubbish singer is something I’ve long wanted to fix. But how easy is it to sort out? Would it be possible to improve my singing voice in just one short lesson? If anyone could help me then surely it was David Grant who, with his wife, Carrie, has coached Take That and Charlotte Church, as well as writing the book How to Sing. As I mentioned, in the beginning stages, before you’ve enrolled in a full-time singing or music college degree program, you shouldn’t have to spend too much of your hard-earned cash on vocal coaching. You’ll end up paying for exactly that once you are accepted into a university. If you have unlimited resources, go with a super expensive Teacher who has the prestige of once topping the charts, but if you’re not in the one percent and you need to watch where your pennies go (especially since you’ll likely be spending them later on anyway), it’s fine to look for someone who fits your limited budget.
