This can be intimidating and unnerving at first – but it’s still less scary than singing in front of other people, right? You can be alone in your room to do it, and the only person who’ll ever hear the recordings is you. So there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.
The final piece of the puzzle is flexible scheduling. It’s our mission to make Guitar Center vocal lessons accessible to anyone, so even if your timetable is jam-packed, we encourage you to get in touch and find out how we can work around your busy lifestyle to tailor a lesson plan to your personal scheduling needs. I’ve taught singing to children, teens, and adults since 2006. My Masters degree training has afforded me the opportunity to be well versed in effective vocal techniques that will help you succeed. My main goal is to help you to develop your own set of tools, and better understand your unique voice as an artist. Make sure to wear clothing you can move in during our sessions, and, most importantly, explore and just have fun!
Place the feet shoulder width apart and slightly bend your legs. (to ensure they are not locked, as locking the knees for a lengthy period of time could result in unconsciousness.) The back should be straight. Your neck should line up with the rest of your spine. The head should be not be tilted to either side. Focus the gaze straight ahead, keeping it relaxed.
Full disclosure, I’ve never been a real New Year’s Resolution kind of guy, but it makes for a catchy title, right? Well, I know that New Years is a time when many people rethink their priorities and make some changes in their life. And I’m all for that. Many people decide that they are going ……
You don’t need to be paranoid here and start off a relationship with a man or woman who could wind up teaching you for years in a negative fashion, but feel free to see if they’ll connect you or let you speak with a former or current student. You can ask simple questions, such as how lessons have been going, if other customers feel the lessons are worth the price, and how this specific Teacher has changed the life or prospects of the student. Nothing invasive or too investigatory, but there’s nothing wrong with making sure you’re going to be working with the right person for you! In fact, some colleges and universities allow prospective students to spend time with those already attending so they can ask all the questions they want and really get a feel for whether or not the place is a good fit. Why not use the same approach when seeking a professional Vocal Coach?
Guitar: I’ve found that guitar method books are nearly as diverse as the guitarists that play them! That being said, I typically start with the Essential Elements for guitar for a solid introduction to music reading and a touch of theory.
Learn to use your nose. Good singing involves partial nasal placement; it is our body’s soundboard. To avoid sounding nasal to others, however, your throat must be wide open with your tongue out of the way (slightly forward, touching the backs of bottom teeth when singing vowels). Nasality can often be heard in country singing and some R&B/Gospel, but can be unappealing to listen to.
Hey A’s Fluky, im anthony from fresno and would be more than happy to start something big. I’ve been looking all around for someone that is serious but just dont have enough thrive to actually become something

Sometimes I feel like I can attempt in singing, but most of the time I’m very self conscious of my voice. And quite often I feel like I CAN’T sing worth a squat. Is there a quick way to sing really pretty? That would be most helpful for me. Thank you.
Hellomy name is Arrolla , I have recently developed rattling in my throat. I’m very frustrated because I can’t get rid of it, at first I thought it was a cold or the flu, but then it stayed for a long time. I now am afraid that my voice will have this phelmy sound.I’m currently trying eucalyptus oil in the air that helps a lot, but I’m wondering if you have some other ideas that I could use. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
Certainly, when you exercise, run, or play sports, a healthy warm up is a good way to prepare, improve your performance, and prevent injury to yourself. The same holds true when you use your voice. A short vocal warm up improves the quality of the sounds you make and helps prevent vocal injury, keeping you in good voice and making your voice production feel better. Many people use warm ups everyday. You should use vocal warm ups before vocally intensive activities like public speaking or singing, classroom teaching, or exuberant social events.
I have extensive training and experience both as a professional musician and educator. But I also have a collection of skills accumulated over the years that revolve around the necessities of self-employment. In music, I am trained to teach at all age and skill levels. My experience as a music instructor comes from years of offering private lessons as well as teaching for Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi and Middle Tennessee State University. I have a BM and MM from the University of North Texas. My practical experience can be found in years of live performance, a nationally di
Module 7 will teach you all about vocal agility. Vocal agility is something that every great singer possesses. You must be able to transition from one note to another while preventing your voice from cracking.
I still can’t get a vibrato working at all. I’ve been researching forever and just can’t figure out what’s wrong with me. Does my voice need to be stronger first before the vibrato will come? I feel like at the moment i’m simply practicing “laaa” repeatedly with no outcome. My ultimate goal is just have a vibrato, doesn’t even need to be a good one, i just want the experience of having one.
Lots of singers, even professionals, take singing lessons because they experience pitch problems. They are easy fixed with this vocal approach. If your musical ear is fine, the issue is with one or more of the following: 1. Lack of correct breath support. 2. Presence of moving vowels or lack of gradations. 3. Singing of improper or heavy consonants.
In the Superior Singing Method system you will learn a variety of techniques and tips to not only identify your unique tone but also how to get the best tone out of your voice. You will discover how to sing with full, rich, and smooth tone that is uniquely your own.
Learning this skill is about connecting up your ears (which we just proved are up to the task in step one) with your voice. There’s a sort of “feedback loop” that you need to practice, where you sing a note, hear whether that note is at the right target pitch or not, and then adjust accordingly.
Hi Christian! Getting your voice to sound good on the microphone is an art unto itself. Try getting a bit closer to the mic and use breath control to control volume to get a better rounder sound (instead of the thin sound that comes from being too far away) and sing with Hearfones to get better control over the sound of your voice http://www.hearfones.com – That’s a start – of course there is a lot more to it. I recommend training with a great vocal coach who can show you more.
