After you get a feel for your voice on single pitches or notes apply your knowledge to any song you know. Think about the vowel sound of every word sung and aim for the loveliest version of each one that you can muster. Sing a line at a time. Consider how you attack each word – particularly at the start of a phrase. Try to hit the opening note in the middle of its sweet spot. Also explore what it is to swoop up or down to a note – not always desirable but sometimes interesting.

If you want to learn how to sing better, a good first place to start is with your posture and breathing. While there are a bunch of different aspects to a breath management system, the cool thing is that if you get the posture thing, which honestly isn’t that tough, then the rest will begin to fall into place. So, I’ll say some about both but……
A proper warm-up is incredibly important before using your voice, as is staying hydrated at all times, which keeps your vocal cords from getting irritated. You also might notice specific foods that affect your voice. Some singers find that they don’t perform well after eating or drinking dairy, for example.
Most kids and teens get started singing naturally because they have an impulse. School districts or religious communities with choirs that practice 3-5 times per week are the best places to develop the young singing voice. This is where the young ear learns fundamental musicianship, harmony, counting, and staying in tune.
To other singers, a lot more practice goes into achieving that pitch-perfect sound. A good singer must master breath control, posture, diction, stage presence, and more important techniques. Don’t be discouraged though – with the right guidance anyone can learn to sing!

I’m also having some trouble with my mic disconnecting or coming in and out, and I don’t think it’s a hardware issue since I can pull up another app and record fine when I encounter the issue mid performance. More song choice would also be welcome.
This isn’t a “hearing test”, it’s not checking for hearing damage or age-related hearing loss. And don’t worry about whether you have a “musical ear” or not. The tone deaf tests which are well-designed don’t require any musical knowledge or skill. They test only the basic biological ability of distinguishing different pitches. You can be totally unmusical and still pass the test, because tone deafness isn’t actually about musical skill, it’s much more fundamental than that.
I have a passion for singing! I’m a 15 year old girl and the only job I have ever wanted was to be a singer. The thing is, I dont know how good I am or if I can make my goals happen. 3 stars because it doesn’t always work… all the sudden my pitch won’t show up on the screen…. that it kind of the whole point. This seems to be because of a sort of crackling that makes it try to decide between a really low pitch or high pitch and it ends up just giving up. I would blame this on the headphones, but they’re from Apple and do very clear audio recordings. Or it just won’t work at all. But normally, the dot will move and twitch between a really low pitch and the pitch I’m actually at

A habit I have is to make my voice sound like the singer. (Or sing with someone who sounds like you.) This makes it easier to sing in tune, since the sound waves match more accurately. I sound a lot like TobyMac (you probably don’t) and I have a similar vocal range (mine’s a little higher), so I sing his songs a lot.
Can you identify the caller on your phone? Then you can identify music notes. If you can identify notes then you can sing. If you can sing a note then you can play an instrument. Very soon you will be performing on stage and get ten out of ten or all three Yes from the judges. Let me clear you.
