Try practicing holding a note and keeping it steady and clear, using your diaphragm. But controlling your voice is all about learning your vocal strengths and building on them. Practice, practice, practice! What worked for me was picking a song that fit my vocal range and tone, then singing along with that. Recording yourself practicing is great, because then you can listen back and look at the areas where you could have been stronger, or held a note more clearly, then repeat. I guarantee after the first few recordings you’ll notice the difference. I have a very soft voice, but have been able to strengthen it.
For example, a younger student will have more time to develop his or her voice, while an older student will more easily pick up on difficult skills like sight reading. Students of all ages are encouraged to join our online singing classes!
Note that if you feel any type if physical strain or especially to the extent of pain, stop practicing. This may be due to practicing these techniques in an incorrect fashion. Seek to speak with a vocal trainer, choral director, or a specialist of the vocal folds. They will be able to show you what is being done incorrectly, and offer insight for self-improvement.

Bottom line: It was nice and I did saw some improvement but after a couple of months and hundreds of dollars that were gone, I did not feel I was getting enough of the improvement that I was looking for, and it was way too much money anyways, so I decided to look for other methods. “”Roger Love‘s Singing Academy has taught me how to sing with confidence. His lessons are really easy to follow, even when teaching tricks that I thought only professionals could pull off. Roger is better than any other voice teacher I‘ve had because his teaching style is funny and engaging, and I could take each lesson as many times as I wanted. I‘m really happy I took this course, and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take their singing to the next level.”

Things that vocal coaches will always stress are vowels, enunciation, and breath control. You want to have tall vowels when singing. Put your pointer and middle fingers between your front teeth to give you an idea of how wide your mouth should be. Make sure to over-stress your words. The clearer, the better! When breathing, don’t breathe from your lungs, breathe from your diaphragm instead, near your stomach. Pretend you’re sipping in chocolate milk. That’s where you should breathe from.
Vocal Tip: A great way to isolate proper breathing muscles is to lie down on the floor on one’s back and place a book over lower abs. As a singer inhales, the book should be rising up. This method is easy to execute and will give one a beautiful vibrato and an agile voice, capable of singing trill and turns.

Andrew, I don’t believe anyone can teach you how to sing. You have to teach yourself – the same way that you learned how to eat and speak and walk. You have to find your singing voice and then develop it – just like you found your balance on two legs and then learned how to run. Also you cannot be shy about it – it won’t work if you are.
