The best way to learn to sing is to regularly take classes or lessons from an experienced teacher who can give you the personal instruction and attention that you need to advance in your skills. Another important necessity is to be dedicated to daily practice. With both of these in your routine, your voice will grow stronger, faster.

Practicing how to sing daily is just logical, right? Simply sing daily. Practice going higher and try out new songs. What’s so complicated about singing? It’s just something you can practice in the shower, right?
Start by practicing with a backing track. You can normally find karaoke versions of popular songs on YouTube, or if necessary you can use the regular studio version, singing along with the lead singer. Begin with just a short section of the song, for example just the chorus.

There are several great range exercises to try as you’re working on scales. These exercises should be part of your warm-up before working on an actual vocal piece. You can find many different warm-up exercises in between singing classes on YouTube.

I am an opera singer who has experience teaching multiple genres including pop, rock, jazz and classical. I create monthly plans for my students and teach them techniques to feel in control of their singing and confident.
I start every lesson with vocal warm-ups. Then we learn different techniques to increase range, posture, and breathing. I can make song recommends and we work on songs that the student wants to learn. I set up video for my students to see and hear themselves. I accompany the student on either the piano or the guitar.
A proper warm-up is incredibly important before using your voice, as is staying hydrated at all times, which keeps your vocal cords from getting irritated. You also might notice specific foods that affect your voice. Some singers find that they don’t perform well after eating or drinking dairy, for example.

When it comes to online singing lessons, there are just so many options. Learning how to sing is something that you’ll work on for your whole life – always trying to get better. Singing lessons will be a huge part of that.
Remember to practice even on your busiest days. As with physical exercise, even a 10-minute workout each day is better than nothing. If you have a commute, try practicing in the car. If you don’t have much time alone, ask your voice teacher for a few quiet exercises that you can do.
