Tone deafness is a real condition. It is part of a biological condition of the brain called amusia which encompasses a number of musical inabilities, including some related to rhythm rather than pitch. As part of amusia, tone deafness means that you are incapable of hearing the differences between musical pitches.

The course covers every basic aspect of singing. It also includes different vocal warm-ups and exercises. Singorama could have been a great course all-in-all except for it being totally software based, meaning all your training will only be through your computer.

4 good habits would be: If a song is too high: Use your resonant (so-called “head”) voice. It can increase your range about a half octave. (6 semitones exactly, for me) If you have no idea what I mean by head voice, look it up. It’s a bit hard to explain. The other option is to sing louder (but don’t yell) if it is too high. My head voice is very weak, so I sing loud instead. Also, make your consonants clear. (I’m guilty of this one, too! 😄) If you sing into a mic, probably want to use the soft spongy covers for it if you get into this habit. That way you’re s’s won’t make everyone cringe from the high pitch. Don’t freak out if you suddenly sound terrible on one note. The closer you are to being on the correct note the worse it sounds, until our ears can’t hear the difference. And warm up first. Even if that’s singing a scale.
This 10 DVD Vocal Training program is an outstanding product. The course comprehensively explains different aspects of harnessing and mastering singing in a soulful style. I have a degree in music from Abilene Christian University, and have been taking voice lessons since 2005. I have been teaching voice lessons for 2 years, and already I have seen many eager singers come through my door. My students have gone on to audition for and sing in school musicals, bands, and even karaoke in a restaurant! Many of my students take lessons solely to have fun and improve their voices, or even just their breathing. Within the first few lessons (if you’re practicing between lessons, of course!), you will start to notice an improvement in your breathing and as time goes on, you will reap the benefits in your singing! I teach any style of singing, especially opera and musical theater.
There’s a lot that goes into improving your voice. Keep reading to find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions from new singers. We’ll share the best way to practice singing, how to find your vocal range, and more!
I’m going to say it’s close to impossible for anyone to teach you to sing, but reasonable for someone to help you sing better. Start on your own. Second, anyone who sings period, even those not as good as you, can help you. Here are some tips, though…
First of all, Aaron’s program covers all key aspects of singing, from singing higher notes to gaining more power and vocal agility, improving your pitch, increasing your range, and also singing for longer periods without getting fatigued.

If you are longing for a better singing voice, you may have heard of the Superior Singing Method, which seems to be a hit for a lot of people. But does that mean the program will improve your vocals too? Well I did some research about the program which hopefully can help you decide.
As an extension of your lessons, Jam Nights are a fun, casual way to meet and play with others. To help put you at ease, we’ll match musicians of similar skill level together so you can easily swap great musical ideas. All Jam Nights are free for our students.
As I mentioned already, learning music with teachers isn’t something I like, and I actually find Aaron’s “virtual” teaching a lot more efficient, especially when such resourceful information and helpful advice is included.

This manual works hand in hand with the entire course. Instead of going through the entire course first then going through the manual, I suggest that you take the time to do both of them together. I did this, and it helped me tremendously.
If you are a bit scared that your voice is not good enough for YouTube, just ask friends what they think then sing to more unknown people until you’re ready for YouTube and follow all of the good comments, not the bad ones.
If you want to learn how to sing, you need to practice daily. Singing lessons will help considerably, but if you can’t take them, there are still ways you can learn on your own. Humming: Highlights anterior frontal vibrations in your lips, teeth and facial bones. Begin with lips gently closed with jaw released. Take an easy breath in and exhale while saying “hum”. Begin with the nasal sound /m/ and gently glide from a high to a low pitch as if you were sighing. Don’t forget your vocal cool down after extensive vocal use. Gently humming feeling the focus of the sound on the lips is an excellent way to cool down the voice. You should hum gentle glides on the sound “m” feeling a tickling vibration in the lip/nose are.
Another important note about solfa is that it’s the key to sight-singing music easily. This means that you can confidently go along to a choir or other singing group and know that if they hand you sheet music you don’t need to panic! You can use solfa to know what notes to sing and your newfound vocal control to know you’ll be singing them right.
First of all these programs make it a breeze for me to edit, play back, print and hear music sheets. I can save these files and experiment with them as much as I like. You can save these files in mp3 format and copy it to an mp3 player. Isn’t that a more convenient way to assess your work and check which elements need working on? Continue Reading »

Digitally or through online singing lessons (e.g., via Skype or Facetime) in which audio or video is transmitted of the instructor singing and the student imitates the instructor. The instructor can also hear the student sing and provide coaching on her or his singing. In most cases, there is a small delay in the audio transmitted during digital voice lessons so the instructor is not able to actively accompany the student. Instead, the voice teacher plays a tone or chord and demonstrates the scale or exercises which he wishes for the student to sing. The student then imitates the instructor. The instructor can then modulate the scale upwards while the student follows singing the same scale pattern.
When it comes to online singing lessons, there are just so many options. Learning how to sing is something that you’ll work on for your whole life – always trying to get better. Singing lessons will be a huge part of that.

Voice students are a bit different in that I don’t use a specific method to instruct. I have many books that I draw from when teaching voice due to the unique nature of the individual. Depending on the style of music, from classical to jazz/pop, I have music that will teach proper breath support, vowel placement and tone.
Deborah is an outstanding teacher with a passionate interest in the improvement and success of her students. Since working with Deborah, my voice is stronger, clearer, more flexible. I plan to continue taking singing lessons from Deborah for many years to come.
Hello! My name is Kelsi Phillips and I love music. Music is everything to me. It’s why I get out of bed in the morning, and something I love even more than just listening to it, is playing it. I love it and I would love to share my passion for it with you. We can do anything we put our minds to and I believe that if you want to become the best musician in the world, you can! I teach everything by ear, I don’t read music. But a lot of people can’t do that which is amazing in my book. But I will do the best I can to help you on this journey to learning the greatness of music.

Then I’ll do the same but with the record button pressed. Again, I keep rewinding (and erasing the recording) until I’m reasonably happy. By this time, I may still not be able to sing the song very well but I’ll certainly have learnt a whole lot about how to sing it.

I’m sad to leave when our two hours are up yet I’m also on a massive high: all that air flowing through your body gives you an endorphin rush not dissimilar to a session in the gym. Have I mastered singing Don’t Stop by the time I leave? Far from it, but I feel I’ve gained a good grasp of the basics. And although I detect an element of sarcasm in my wife’s comments when I get home – “bloody hell, it’s Scott Walker!” – it’s undeniable that a whole range of previously unattainable baritone notes has been opened up to me.
Can you match pitch? If so, just try singing single notes, you don’t even have to know how to play piano, just hit one random key at a time try to sing the pitch. (A good place to start is the middle of the piano and go up if you’re a female or down if you’re a male.) Also, sing what you like. It’s a lot easier to do something that you enjoy. I don’t enjoy basketball, so I don’t play/practice it. That doesn’t mean I don’t get any exercise whatsoever, though. I just do what I find enjoyable.
Andy has written, arranged, produced, performed and recorded for a variety of artists over the years including an original composition by world renowned jazz artist, Kurt Rosenwinkel, which was performed by Kurt himself along with the, Grammy award winning, Universi
3 stars because it doesn’t always work… all the sudden my pitch won’t show up on the screen…. that it kind of the whole point. This seems to be because of a sort of crackling that makes it try to decide between a really low pitch or high pitch and it ends up just giving up. I would blame this on the headphones, but they’re from Apple and do very clear audio recordings. Or it just won’t work at all. But normally, the dot will move and twitch between a really low pitch and the pitch I’m actually at
The second module discusses everything about managing your breath. You will learn how to control your breathing properly during week 2. It contains a variety of breathing techniques and exercises, which are taught by Aaron. Less than 3% of the general population actually exhibit tone deafness. This has been shown in a large number of tests and rigorous scientific studies, and so the probability of you being tone deaf is very small.
