For clarinet and oboe students I like to compliment what their band/orchestra director is using when possible. I also love the Klose method for clarinet. The Rubank is also a tried and true book I use. I’ve had a lot of success with these books.
Pitch is defined as the quality that allows us to classify a sound as relatively high or low, and is determined by the frequency of sound wave vibrations. Knowing how to sing on pitch is what sets apart great singers.
You will learn how to develop a full, powerful, and soulful voice through the HearAndPlay system regardless of what music genre/style you sing. I also highly recommend this product because of my previous experiences with the company.

Bottom line: It was nice and I did saw some improvement but after a couple of months and hundreds of dollars that were gone, I did not feel I was getting enough of the improvement that I was looking for, and it was way too much money anyways, so I decided to look for other methods. Staying away from caffeine, smoke, and alcohol. Those three substances can damage your voice. If you want to sing well, you have to avoid at least going overboard – drinking too much coffee, chain smoking, and taking in a lot of alcoholic beverages.
Start from an estimated guess as to what you feel the note sounds like to match pitch. Move the pitch of your voice up and down the scale as a siren until you match the desired pitch. You will be able to hear and feel when you meet this match.

I know that there are still many out there who opt for traditional ways of learning how to sing, and that means hiring vocal coaches or taking classes. Hi, I’ve been trying for a really long time to make my voice stronger and louder. I can sing high notes and low notes but really softly. If you listen to Get it Right from Glee sung by Lea Michelle she has such a strong voice with a lot of emotion. Do you have any suggestions on how to maybe get closer to that point? Obviously I’m not going to sound exactly like her but I would like to get better. I have had a huge dream of becoming a singer and right now I don’t know how to even achieve that goal.
Beyond that, improving your singing tone is best done with the help of a professional. Since there are many reasons your tone could be suffering, working with a voice teacher can help you identify what you need to work on — whether that’s insufficient breathing, a limited range, or understanding how to first attack a note or phrase.

For devoted musicians, instruments are almost like an extension of the body – but vocalists are the only ones who can truthfully say their body itself is an instrument. And what an instrument it is! There are as many unique voices as there are people in the world, so no two vocalists have exactly the same sound. What that means is simple: if you want an instrument that’s like no other, your voice is it. All it takes is to learn how to unlock its potential, and that’s where vocal lessons at Guitar Center come into the picture. We’ll prepare you with the basic skills and knowledge you need for success, and guide you through the process of developing and fine-tuning your voice to bring out its musical potential.

People do not only have different singing voices. Their voices’ ranges are also different. To sing well, make sure that you are able to measure how high or low your voice can go. That’s the way to avoid notes that your voice could not sing clearly right.
Two Octave Scales: Provides maximum stretch on the vocal folds. Start in a low pitch and gently glide up the scale on a “me” sound. Don’t push the top or bottom of your range but do try to increase the range gently each time you do the scales. Now reverse and glide down the scale from the top to the bottom on an “e” sound. You can try this on the “oo” sound also.
First, read through any instructions and go over the videos. The things you will learn in the first lessons will help you through the next lessons. On the sixth day, you will be practicing all the exercises and techniques you learned in the previous five lessons.

Gently humming feeling the focus of the sound on the lips is an excellent way to cool down the voice. You should hum gentle glides on the sound “m” feeling a tickling vibration in the lip/nose are.
