These were weekly vocal lessons that each cost me 40$ and lasted for 45 minutes. The way Aaron performs the exercises with you in the recording helps to make you feel more confident in the way you are performing the exercises by yourself.
I liked the idea, but the execution is severely lacking in what could be considered instructional guidance. There is no description of what you are supposed to do or achieve in the exercises. There is no explanation of the score you recieve, or how to improve. The songs from which you chose your goal are very limited, and yet you need to have your own Spodify account to use the entire song. On top of that, the limited list doesn’t have a trade off, such as added lyrics to follow or well-separated vocal and backing tracks. When it’s time to sing with the music, you can barely hear the instruments. Very disappointing.

As @luserdroog said in the comments, it would be best if you could get at least a couple lessons. Otherwise you risk learning bad habits with the physical aspects (that can’t be taught well except in person) that you’ll have to un-learn later.
Hi Christian! Getting your voice to sound good on the microphone is an art unto itself. Try getting a bit closer to the mic and use breath control to control volume to get a better rounder sound (instead of the thin sound that comes from being too far away) and sing with Hearfones to get better control over the sound of your voice http://www.hearfones.com – That’s a start – of course there is a lot more to it. I recommend training with a great vocal coach who can show you more.

There are several great range exercises to try as you’re working on scales. These exercises should be part of your warm-up before working on an actual vocal piece. You can find many different warm-up exercises in between singing classes on YouTube.
For the next 20 minutes, study a song to learn the melody and rhythm. While memorizing the lyrics, work on your diction, pronunciation, and vocal tone. And finally, for the last 20 minutes you can practice vocal techniques including ear training, harmony, and sight reading.
The A-O joint – Your very top vertebra, AKA the “atlas,” forms a joint with the bottom of your skull to support your head. Balance your head on this joint (the A-O joint) so that you are neither looking up or down. A properly balanced A-O joint reduces neck and jaw tension.

Correct breathing for singers begins with a spontaneous open breath. Upon inhalation, if ones hands are placed on the stomach – an inch below belly button, the hands will be pushed out by stomach muscles. The singer’s shoulders should be relaxed and not move up. Neck and jaw should be relaxed. Jaw needs to be unhinged. Phonation begins with the movement of the stomach inward, where one is singing while pulling the stomach muscles in. This is called “singing on the breath.” The phonation ends with the release of the abdominal muscles. It’s important to note that phonation should be ended with the release of the abs and not in one’s throat, which is vocally abusive.

Hi my name is Kei-shun and I’m a tenor. I have a non straining vocal range from G#2-E4. My music teacher, Daniel Henry, told me that I have the quality of a tenor one, so I sing tenor one. When I was 14 I could sing cheat voice to C5 with no problem. Now I’m 17 I start to strain going pass E4, as if my voice tries to go into head tone. If I sing soft I can sing to C5, but when I sing tenor one in the choir can’t get pass the E4; it would sound throaty and straining. I want to know how could I train myself to sing between F4-C5 with no problem, so I could be a tenor one like I want to be.
Next consider your nose, eyes, eyebrows, face, head and neck. Where are these positioned? Do they move? Are they relaxed? What happens if you raise your eyebrows? Close your eyes? Imagine your head has an invisible string lifting you straight up. Does it make a difference?
That is not unusual. It’s sounds like your vocal cords are a bit farther apart which makes a “breathier” sound and the singer has trouble managing the airflow to create volume. The solution is to practice vocal technique scales – in particular “ee” vowels to pull the cords together and be able to sing with more tone and volume.
Tongue Trill: Relaxes the tongue and engages breathing and voice. Place your tongue behind your upper teeth. Exhale and trill your tongue with a “r” sound. Hold the sound steady and keep the breath connected. Now try to vary the pitch up and down the scale while trilling. Again, don’t push beyond what is comfortable at the top or bottom of your scale.
