After you get used to it you’ll start to be able to hear how good your voice truly is, and this is where recording yourself becomes a powerful secret weapon. You can hear where your pitching is off and then correct it next time. You can hear when your enunciation isn’t quite right and then improve it. You can start to form an objective opinion about how good a singer you are.
Correct breathing for singers begins with a spontaneous open breath.  Upon inhalation, if ones hands are placed on the stomach – an inch below belly button, the hands will be pushed out by stomach muscles.  The singer’s shoulders should be relaxed and not move up.  Neck and jaw should be relaxed.  Jaw needs to be unhinged.  Phonation begins with the movement of the stomach inward, where one is singing while pulling the stomach muscles in.  This is called “singing on the breath.”  The phonation ends with the release of the abdominal muscles.  It’s important to note that phonation should be ended with the release of the abs and not in one’s throat, which is vocally abusive.

Hey, I know you published this ages ago, but I hope you will still see and hopefully answer this question. Is this course just for people with absolutely no singing skill, or just those looking to improve? Because I have never had lessons, but I naturally have a sense of pitch, my voice is just not very powerful – is it still worth the money? I want to be able to sing better With my guitar.
You don’t need to be paranoid here and start off a relationship with a man or woman who could wind up teaching you for years in a negative fashion, but feel free to see if they’ll connect you or let you speak with a former or current student. You can ask simple questions, such as how lessons have been going, if other customers feel the lessons are worth the price, and how this specific Teacher has changed the life or prospects of the student. Nothing invasive or too investigatory, but there’s nothing wrong with making sure you’re going to be working with the right person for you! In fact, some colleges and universities allow prospective students to spend time with those already attending so they can ask all the questions they want and really get a feel for whether or not the place is a good fit. Why not use the same approach when seeking a professional Vocal Coach?
Many of my friends says that I have a good voice. I am a tenor and I admit I have a good voice and I can reach high notes without cracking but my voice sounds awkward when you hear it in mic and in phone. Please help me fix my problem thank you
A proper warm-up is incredibly important before using your voice, as is staying hydrated at all times, which keeps your vocal cords from getting irritated. You also might notice specific foods that affect your voice. Some singers find that they don’t perform well after eating or drinking dairy, for example.
In addition, if you haven’t taken any singing classes or lessons previously, then you might not know your full range. Your vocal range can change drastically as you learn how to sing, so don’t jump to conclusions until you’ve had some training.

Breath Relaxation: Releases tension often associated in the breathing mechanism that can interfere with effective voice production. Ordinarily, if there is tension when breathing, that tension radiates to the voice box muscles. Take a normal breath and then exhale. Make sure your shoulders and chest are low and relaxed. Repeat many times making sure that your breaths are focused low in the abdomen and that there is not associated chest, neck, or shoulder tension while breathing. You can place one hand on your abdomen to remind you to keep the focus low and away from the chest and shoulders. Hold an “s” sound like in hiss when you exhale. 
Here are a couple of basic things a singer can do to start building a bigger voice: use correct breathing method, engage vocal resonances and master singing on clean stationary vowels.  There is a common misconception about how to breathe.  Some believe that a singer needs to expand their ribcage out horizontally while inhaling.  That is incorrect.  This will result in various issues such as limited vocal range, pitch problems, a wobbly shaky vibrato and more.

What I think about it: I really liked the structure of the course. It is very easy to follow and understand, it shows you a “course progress” bar, and every week I gradually felt how I was constantly improving and my favorite songs that I like to sing while playing guitar (from Beatles to Dylan to Coldplay, Rock, Pop, some Jazz) just began to sound much better. I also felt how I could sing for a longer time without feeling “worn out” on the inside of my throat, thanks to the good techniques and habits I learned.
+ I felt constant improvement starting from week 2 and I just kept getting better. I am now proud to sing my favorite songs in front of people – which is something I never even dreamt about a few years ago.
Begin with the basic solfege (by sound) notes: “do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do,” while ascending the pitches along with a piano or keyboard accordingly. The object is to decline back down to the pitch “do,” by singing “do, ti, la, so, fa, mi, re, do.”

Hi, I love singing and I always try to imitate any voice I listen to.. I also have this natural baritone to tenor voice but every time I try using my natural voice to sing to any song I’m listening to I just find it difficult to do so because I feel I’m note hitting d notes right and so I switch to copying the voice. Your voice is a muscle and just like any other muscle in your body, it requires correct and constant training in order to grow. When you start to take singing lessons, you are putting your voice muscle through a new workout and it is VITAL that your voice workouts are done correctly, and that they are done over time.
Students who already have a wide vocal range and the ability to match pitch will progress faster than those who weren’t born with these talents. Either way, each of these talents can be developed with the right amount of practice.

It automatically chooses notes in your comfortable singing range and gives you a range of simple fun exercises to practice matching pitch. And instead of the momentary display of the digital tuner, you can actually see a graph of how your vocal pitch varied over time which gives you a clearer idea of how your pitch skills are developing.

Okay, back to pitch. We’re going to sing center of pitch. What a lot of you are going to do, you’re going to slide into that note. You’re going to ah-uh-ah (sings at varying pitch). What I want you to imagine is, you’re going to aim right for the center of the bullseye. (Sings ah). And you want to imagine coming to it from above. Why is because the actually soft palette, which is inside the mouth, needs to lift for you to be able to hit center of pitch. That gets a little bit technical, but you can start taking lessons with a vocal coach to experience that more, because it’s really exciting when you start to make those changes and be more accurate with your pitch.
Online singing lessons are not bare-bones projects that just teach you the basics. They are, I can tell you with full confidence, as comprehensive as any lesson set a ”real” vocal coach or class can provide you.
And I’m going to be completely honest. I found it hard to understanding the wording in almost all points in the entire article. I think this is the author doing many idea or procedures were explained too complex for me. Even the whole elevator thingy. I want to find good recording tips for vocals. I trust my voice has good pitch as is. Anyone?
