As someone who learned a lot about effective course structuring and created an online course myself, (the Harmonica Jamz course for learning harmonica) I can definitely tell that Aaron knows the psychology of learning and of creating an effective learning process for his students.
Since one set is for male singers and another set is for female singers, this vocal training will work best for those who want to learn how to sing or to improve their singing voice. On one hand, male vocalists usually need to warm up longer because they have a much wider vocal range within their chest voice compared to females.
I’m going to say it’s close to impossible for anyone to teach you to sing, but reasonable for someone to help you sing better. Start on your own. Second, anyone who sings period, even those not as good as you, can help you. Here are some tips, though…
+ They offer a bunch of follow up courses to take your singing even farther – my favorite was the “Superior Harmony” course where I learned how to sing along with other people, recognize different musical intervals that sound best when singing together, etc.
I bought this course and I started just couple of days ago. It is still early to say anything, but I am afraid that I will not be able to say: OK my voice is now better, I sing much better. I mean, how do I even know that I sing the tones correctly (for example in the warming exercises)? And exercises look a bit silly, like Aron is saying: “Hi, I took your money and now you even make yourself stupid in your free time.”
With Superior Singing Method you will develop precise vocal agility which is the ability to bounce from note to note as you sing. Most singers and vocal training programs completely overlook this important skill and it is the difference between from good singers and great singers. Singing vocal runs with ease, proper rhythm, and the ability to stay on pitch without wavering are just some of the benefits you will experience.
Touch Piano! is a free piano app, perfect for when you need to hear a starting note to make sure you’re singing on pitch. If you like singing a cappella or have an upcoming audition, this app is a must for you!
Master Vocal Coach Ken Tamplin will teach you how to sing better than you ever thought possible – whether you are an adult who wants to train your voice to be the best it can be or singing lessons for kids just starting out. Right from the start, you will be excited at what you can accomplish-ESPECIALLY if you are a beginning singer!!!
I strive to break bad habits, teach correct singing, and establish good technique. I have taught opera and pop styles, though I’m open to anything! My main focus is to get the student to sing correctly and efficiently. After that, style choice can come into play. With the correct technique, you can sing anything!
Additionally, the term “voice teacher” or “singing teacher” normally refers to an instructor whose main role is developing the singing voice. The term “vocal coach”, on the other hand, may be appropriated by someone who works on stage performance, vocal style or a host of other subjects that are related to voice, but not necessarily teach singing.[1]
Find your range. Your range is the measure of pitches you can sing between your lowest and highest notes. Try any number of classical musical scales (you can easily find them with a simple online search) and see which notes on the bottom and which notes on the top are impossible for you to clearly sing.

I know your struggles. I want to be able to sing, not be like, really talented or anything, just good enough that people don’t tell me to shut up. I think any singing teacher would probably just slam the door shut in my face I’m that bad tbh
Keep in mind though not to practice for long periods of time. Aim for anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes each day, and stop practicing as soon as you start to feel vocally fatigued, or ideally right before.
When selecting the person who will help you achieve greatness and eventually get into a program or school of your dreams, look for someone who has managed to work as a Singer or Vocalist of some kind before.
If you’re quiet, muffled, or sloppy, the message and story of the song can get lost. Moreover, some singers don’t even recognize when they have poor diction. This is where recording yourself while singing, or getting feedback from a voice teacher, can make a huge difference.
Hi Christian! Getting your voice to sound good on the microphone is an art unto itself. Try getting a bit closer to the mic and use breath control to control volume to get a better rounder sound (instead of the thin sound that comes from being too far away) and sing with Hearfones to get better control over the sound of your voice http://www.hearfones.com – That’s a start – of course there is a lot more to it. I recommend training with a great vocal coach who can show you more.
Great article, wow! I haven’t hear about the “think down” technique so far, will try it out in my next singing session 🙂 I would love to hear from you as an expert, what do you think about those tips I wrote? 🙂 I am not a professional singer, but I did a research on useful tips for musicians. I will definitely link your page there, too 🙂 http://blog.sofasession.com/how-to-improve-your-voice/
We highly recommend this product if you’re looking for something extremely affordable that still packs a huge punch. To see if this program will work best for you, consult our in-depth review of SSM before taking any other course.
I know an audiobook (100% free) which is called how to sing. You can get this book (text can be downloaded from Gutenberg Project), and you can get some idea and knowledge about singing. Also you might take a look at Music Notation & Terminology.
Try singing along to a song that you like with a voice recorder nearby. Make sure the music is quiet and your voice is the real thing that the recorder picks up. After you’re done singing, check if you are singing on key. Also check to see if you are:
Toya is great! Exactly what I was looking for in a voice coach. She identified my areas for improvement, recommended exercises, and outlined a plan. She has excellent teaching skills and a delightful personality. I am very pleased.

We are an independently owned organization, and committed to the preservation of this extravagant music industry. We will be posting stories and information about South African Jazz as well as interesting items from the wide world of jazz. Whilst this website will also focus on information and reviews from a wide variety of international sources however we will not lose sight of the main focus which is Southern African jazz.
Not all singing lessons are created equal. If you have a specific singing style you would like to learn, look for it on your potential teachers’ lists of specialties. Examples include Broadway, country, gospel, classical, jazz, opera, choir, music performance, stage performance, musical theater, and ear training.
Our speaking voice is always inside our comfortable singing range, so you can treat this as an “anchor note” or a starting point for exploring your range. From this note, try sweeping up and down in pitch with your voice.
How does one know what to look for in a Vocal Coach? What separates someone who knows what they are doing and is a perfect fit for you from someone who is a total fraud? It’s tough to choose and there’s a lot that will go into your final decision (and it’s a decision you’ll likely need to make a few times as you advance in your talents, move to go to college or find work in another city), but here are four things you should absolutely look for in a Vocal Coach, especially in the beginning.
Learn to “cover the voice” for a fuller sound. Resonant, rounded sound is formed by opening the throat and by limiting the nasality. This is called “covering the voice.” Be careful, however. If you cover it too much, it may become to airy and mushy sounding.
Their method of teaching is incomparable to others. They had broken down the basic concepts into clear and very comprehensive teaching styles, avoiding confusing technical terms that may be difficult to understand.
A lot of breathing exercises incorporate singing different sounds on pitches and working up and down the scale. Making sure you breathe from your belly and support your voice throughout the entire exercise is the key to power.

I know that for me, I enjoy getting to put the spotlight on my students. I also like haveing concerts for my students to be able to demonstrate their skills for their friends and family. I also can work with students of any age, starting at about age 5 through age 100+. My experiences with teaching children gives me the ability to teach even very young students.
Hey Rachel. Your voice is just like an instrument, and just like how it takes time to sound good on the guitar – it’s the same with your voice – but I guarantee you can do it with a mix of desire and persistence. How long? I definitely think that within 1-2 months of daily work you’ll sound a LOT better.
I’m not saying former professional Singers are the only instructors worth hiring but they have a very valuable skill set that others won’t have. It’s worth investing some time and energy into finding somebody who has earned their bread and butter with their voice as well as with their teaching.
