Think of practicing singing as you would exercise. Exercising every day improves your coordination and muscular ability. Using your voice every day improves the coordination and muscular abilities involved with breathing, lifting the soft palate, and relaxing the rest of the body.
For me, it did sound like a great deal and like a place where I will want to be 8 weeks later. Especially after spending about the same amount of weeks in face-to-face lessons that were showing slow results. So I went for it. How did it go? Keep readin’ to find out.

Sirens/Kazoo Buzz: Improves the resonant focus of the sound and continues work with maximal stretch on the vocal folds. The mouth postures are easily made by pretending you are sucking in spaghetti with an inhalation. On exhalation make the “woo” sound. It will be a buzz like sound. Hold the sound steady for 2-3 attempts. Now use the woo sound to go up and down the scales.
Am trying to figure out my type of singing voice I have. I can sing and inmate other singers voices and even when they singing in auto tune I can do that or make my voice sound like auto tune without the auto tune. Does anyone know about this please tell me I would like to know more about this type of singing voice I have.
You can also check your pitch accuracy using free audio recording and analysis software such as Audacity. You can read a full tutorial on recording and analysing your singing pitch but the basic process is:
Humming: Highlights anterior frontal vibrations in your lips, teeth and facial bones. Begin with lips gently closed with jaw released. Take an easy breath in and exhale while saying “hum”. Begin with the nasal sound /m/ and gently glide from a high to a low pitch as if you were sighing. Don’t forget your vocal cool down after extensive vocal use. Gently humming feeling the focus of the sound on the lips is an excellent way to cool down the voice. You should hum gentle glides on the sound “m” feeling a tickling vibration in the lip/nose are.

Of course, depending on where you live and other restraints, you may have a limited number of options, and it’s entirely possible the above paragraphs don’t really apply to you. If that’s the case, do the best with whatever you can, but keep in mind if you really want to take your future career to the next level, you’ll need to find better Teachers, which is why many people travel for school. I’m nervous when I arrive, but David instantly puts me at ease. I realise that finding a teacher who won’t judge you is crucial, because to get your voice in shape it’s helpful to put yourself through some embarrassing vocal exercises. Such as singing lyrics designed to help you pronounce vowels – never before have I been so passionate over a song about macaroni. Or having to sing while trying to lift David’s grand piano, the resultant strain forcing me to subconsciously belt out the notes with added volume.
A habit I have is to make my voice sound like the singer. (Or sing with someone who sounds like you.) This makes it easier to sing in tune, since the sound waves match more accurately. Try practicing holding a note and keeping it steady and clear, using your diaphragm. But controlling your voice is all about learning your vocal strengths and building on them. Practice, practice, practice! What worked for me was picking a song that fit my vocal range and tone, then singing along with that. Recording yourself practicing is great, because then you can listen back and look at the areas where you could have been stronger, or held a note more clearly, then repeat. I guarantee after the first few recordings you’ll notice the difference. I have a very soft voice, but have been able to strengthen it.
My vocal teacher strongly encourages me to sing in low register, saying that is where most commercial songs are ‘located’ and from where shout occurs. However, I feel that once I get to C5, I naturally mix and can actually better control my vocals and do a better job of lifting my soft palette, which is, admittedly, more difficult to do in low while going to a higher pitch. So the question is, is it better to avoid mixing and sing in LR as much as possible?
So what exactly should you record yourself singing? The answer is: your repertoire. That’s a fancy term musicians use to mean “the stuff they know and perform”. As a singer it just means a collection of songs you’re confident singing.

Jaw Release: Reduces tension in the mouth and jaw area during speaking and singing. Place the heels of each hand directly below the cheek bone. Pushing in and down from the cheeks to the jaw, massage the facial muscles. Allow your jaw to passively open as you move the hands down the face. Repeat several times.

So, how do you strengthen your pitch-matching abilities? One method is simple aural drills. Start by playing a note on a piano to find your pitch. Sing along, and then subtly slide your pitch one way, and then back to the note. You’ll start training your ear to hear the varying pitches.
The big challenge for most new singers is handling leaps in pitch. Moving between notes which are close together is relatively easy, but when there’s a leap (e.g. think of the first two notes of “Somewhere over the rainbow”, “Some – where”) it can become quite hard to accurately hit that second note dead-on.
It’s extremely important to find a good voice teacher and to ask about an instructor’s training and background, because poor instruction or incorrect practice can actually ruin your voice. Singing should never hurt.
Sing the pitches “do re mi fa so mi do.” Sing “zi-ya” on the pitches. “Zi” is to be sung on “do re mi fa” in legato. Make these notes smooth and connected. “Ya” is to be sung on “so mi do.” It is supposedly sung in staccato. Make these notes short and separate, just like you sang “ha.” Putting these concepts together requires practice, as it involves transitioning between concepts. When singing “zi,” try to keep the jaw relaxed. Do not open your mouth too wide. In fact,sing this note with a rounded mouth that is only slightly open. This way, you will achieve a soft sound that is round and full. When you sing “ya,” do not widen the mouth once again. Slightly elongate the shape of your mouth. Because this also involves arpeggiation to some extent, it is always best to leave your hand on your diaphragm.
Ugh, I wish I could sing. I want to get into theatre acting (its my first job choice, I do have backups) but being able to sing is something that would really help me as musical theatre is big in the industry (well, where I live, its the only kind of theatre) and yeah. Neck – Your neck is a part of your spine. Streamline it with the rest of your spine rather than craning it forward. If you balance your head on your A-O joint, your neck should move into this position.
HI Alex, You are probably a high tenor voice. It’s best to take some voice lessons and learn how to use it to get it sounding as good as it can. High tenor voices are sought after so I think if you embrace it you will find it is an asset. The soft pallet should always be raised. The object is to leave as much hollow space on the inner part of your mouth, so as to produce a sound that is round and full. Lower your tongue, allowing it to rest on the bottom of the mouth. Elongate the jaw slightly. Your lips should form a small, round, circular, shape. Be sure not to open your mouth too much, as it may block the hollow passage of the roof of your mouth.
Begin by aiming for just a 3 song repertoire. Pick three songs you like and which are in your comfortable range. It helps to memorise the song lyrics so that you have one less thing to think about as you sing.
Be sure to get a good teacher if you’re serious about developing your skills. Voice coaches will be able to give you really good feedback in real time, as well as tips and tricks. They will set a schedule for you and help you meet goals that you set for yourself. A voice coach is absolutely essential for anyone who wants to seriously become a singer.
