What I think about it: I really liked the structure of the course. It is very easy to follow and understand, it shows you a “course progress” bar, and every week I gradually felt how I was constantly improving and my favorite songs that I like to sing while playing guitar (from Beatles to Dylan to Coldplay, Rock, Pop, some Jazz) just began to sound much better. I also felt how I could sing for a longer time without feeling “worn out” on the inside of my throat, thanks to the good techniques and habits I learned.

There are many good vocal coaches out there but also many bad ones. Many classically trained vocal coaches will tell you to push you diaphram, which can be harmful to your vocal chords. I had a teacher that would always tell me “Singing is an athletic exercise!”. It’s not, it should be very easy. You should never feel tension.

When it’s time to sing with the music, you can barely hear the instruments. Very disappointing.

Also, if someone seems to be asking for a bit too much per hour — perhaps they don’t have any actual real world experience or you can tell you won’t be working with them for a very long time — feel free to make them an offer lower than what they are asking. You never know when a Singer will accept your bid because they truly need the cash.
In 2014 I worked for a few months in New Orleans – one of the world’s biggest music capitals. I decided that after years of playing music, it was a great opportunity to learn how to sing too. I was previously occasionally watching a couple of YouTube lessons about singing, but those never really make you stick to something because they lack a systematic approach. Anyway, I started taking singing lessons with a well-known local teacher.
Then I’ll do the same but with the record button pressed. Again, I keep rewinding (and erasing the recording) until I’m reasonably happy. By this time, I may still not be able to sing the song very well but I’ll certainly have learnt a whole lot about how to sing it.
Here’s an extra tip: don’t throw the recordings away! Save each one, putting the song name and today’s date in the filename. Then, after a few days of practicing a song, come back and listen to one of your earlier performances. You’ll most likely be able to hear a big improvement and that will encourage you to keep at it.
You can practice singing scales like this as part of developing vocal control. Remember to choose scales which lie in your comfortable range. If that means you can only sing part of the scale, that’s fine. Remember you are just using this as a way of practising your vocal control.

As @luserdroog said in the comments, it would be best if you could get at least a couple lessons. Otherwise you risk learning bad habits with the physical aspects (that can’t be taught well except in person) that you’ll have to un-learn later.

Try practicing holding a note and keeping it steady and clear, using your diaphragm. But controlling your voice is all about learning your vocal strengths and building on them. Practice, practice, practice! What worked for me was picking a song that fit my vocal range and tone, then singing along with that. Recording yourself practicing is great, because then you can listen back and look at the areas where you could have been stronger, or held a note more clearly, then repeat. I guarantee after the first few recordings you’ll notice the difference. I have a very soft voice, but have been able to strengthen it.
Begin with your hands on your stomach, placed on top of each other. Breath deeply and serenely through your nose so that the breath makes your stomach expand. As you exhale, your abdomen should contract slightly. Your inhale should be deep to the full capacity extent in order to hold out notes and phrases, and for the purpose of singing in legato. The exhalation should be mellow and slow, conserving every last bit of breath to input into your voice before taking the next breath.
Hello, i am Sahir Khan and i’ve recently started, i actually can sing good in my normal voice and better in my head voice but as i reach on higher notes i sing them barely as they are in other words i lose control on higher notes.What can i do? and also i have a decent vibrato in my normal voice but i lose them also on higher notes to some extent…..i will be very thankful if you help….. thanks.
This happens because your voice actually sounds different to you than other people. This is due to the physics of sound being carried inside your body as well as outside through the air when you hear it. When you hear a recording you are actually hearing what other people hear when you sing.

This manual works hand in hand with the entire course. Instead of going through the entire course first then going through the manual, I suggest that you take the time to do both of them together. I did this, and it helped me tremendously.
Start with a few simple things: pay attention to your nutrition and health in general, including eating well, staying hydrated, not smoking, and getting enough sleep. From there, watch how your health influences your singing.
