Always listen to what you are singing. You can achieve this easily by either plugging one of your ears with your finger or putting your hand in front of your mouth. Do not cover it though. Then, change your pitch slightly until you are certain that you are singing in the right key.
Breathe in through your nose, then plug your nose with a free hand. This is how it should feel when you sing. Practice singing without feeling the exhalation of the breath in your nose while you sing.
Give your voice a workout with this online singing class! You’ll learn how to make your songs stand out with techniques like crescendos and decrescendos. Several fun singing exercises will also help you sing a song in key with confidence, and add your own personal touch.
The cost of singing lessons depends on your method of learning. For private lessons, you can expect to pay anywhere from $10 to $75 per half hour. The rate is typically based on your location and a teacher’s level of expertise.
Have you wished you could sing the songs you love – but thought it was impossible because you can’t sing in tune? Do your friends and family make a face when you sing in front of them? Maybe a school teacher once told you that you can’t sing or were singing “off key”. Or perhaps you just have a feeling that you have a bad singing voice…
Expand your vocal range with Christina. Learn her secrets for nailing those high notes and building your range. Use the Range Finder tool at the end of the lesson to put into practice what you’ve learned.
There are several great range exercises to try as you’re working on scales. These exercises should be part of your warm-up before working on an actual vocal piece. You can find many different warm-up exercises in between singing classes on YouTube.

Have an audition coming up? For tenors, selecting the right repertoire and learning how to sing tenor parts that really showcase your vocal type is key. Here, Hayward, CA teacher Molly R. offers her suggestions…   So, you call yourself a tenor! That’s a wonderful voice type to have — there are not as many of you higher-voiced males! Finding vocal repertoire in a baritone-heavy world is not always easy, but what IS written for tenors is just marvelous and bound to impress if you’ve
In addition, if you haven’t taken any singing classes or lessons previously, then you might not know your full range. Your vocal range can change drastically as you learn how to sing, so don’t jump to conclusions until you’ve had some training.
Absolutely! Use Hearfones when vocalizing to control your power (www.hearfones.com) and it will help you sing with more tone and better pitch. For too much vibrato – practice landing on each note with “straight tone” first and then release into vibrato. Don’t let your voice vibrato right away. This technique will help you control where and when you use it!

This isn’t a “hearing test”, it’s not checking for hearing damage or age-related hearing loss. And don’t worry about whether you have a “musical ear” or not. The tone deaf tests which are well-designed don’t require any musical knowledge or skill. They test only the basic biological ability of distinguishing different pitches. You can be totally unmusical and still pass the test, because tone deafness isn’t actually about musical skill, it’s much more fundamental than that.
Sequences such as “Mi Me Ma Mo Mu” up and down the scale will give you practice in opening your mouth, relaxing your throat, and supporting your sound. You don’t want these notes to sound nasal, but rather supported and steady.
Tiago is 100% correct here. You really are better at anything you do when you do it with confidence, I haven’t haven’t sang in a while since I lost my guitar but I use to have half@sssd confidence in it. I started singing again tonight and was confident anything is achievable if you set your mind (also had a lot of complements about my ability which helps) and I have been singing better then I ever have before, all day today. When you don’t believe in your abilities you don’t give it your all, the key is believing in yourself completely so can give it everything you have, without sabotaging yourself due to worry that your best isn’t good enough.

Their method of teaching is incomparable to others. They had broken down the basic concepts into clear and very comprehensive teaching styles, avoiding confusing technical terms that may be difficult to understand.

In this training you will learn a very effective singing technique called “Bel Canto.” This technique offers unsurpassed benefits compared to other vocal techniques. Can you match pitch? If so, just try singing single notes, you don’t even have to know how to play piano, just hit one random key at a time try to sing the pitch. (A good place to start is the middle of the piano and go up if you’re a female or down if you’re a male.) Also, sing what you like. It’s a lot easier to do something that you enjoy. I don’t enjoy basketball, so I don’t play/practice it. That doesn’t mean I don’t get any exercise whatsoever, though. I just do what I find enjoyable.
Recording studio coaching that takes place in a recording studio with a microphone and multitrack recording equipment, which is operated by an audio engineer. Singing for recordings requires different singing techniques than singing at live shows. To give one example, when a singer is performing at a small coffeehouse gig without a microphone, she does not need to worry about “plosive” consonants (such as the letter “p”); however, when singing in front of a microphone, words with the letter “p” can be overemphasized by the microphone, due to the nature of the way we produce these sounds.
I strive to break bad habits, teach correct singing, and establish good technique. I have taught opera and pop styles, though I’m open to anything! My main focus is to get the student to sing correctly and efficiently. After that, style choice can come into play. With the correct technique, you can sing anything!
After much research, I have to say that the Superior Singing Method is an effective program that will bring out your hidden vocal talent. The lessons are very easy to follow and as many reviewers have noted, they’re much more comprehensive than traditional singing classes. It’s not just effective but affordable too, so I have to give it my full recommendation.
@bobobobo, people have been singing for a lot longer than 96 years. I don’t see the book’s age as a valid reason for criticism. And there’s no strong reason to trust Amazon’s ratings. You might be right, but you need a better argument… – naught101 Sep 23 ’12 at 13:19

Let’s answer the second question first. Voice lessons are an excellent way to learn proper singing techniques without stressing your vocal cords. You might have a natural talent for singing and think lessons are unnecessary, but there’s only so far you can go on raw talent alone. Singing lessons can teach you how to:

“Roger takes you step by step through each lesson with clear explanations of every aspect of singing. I love how detailed his videos are. He has helped me understand the mechanics behind my voice and how it works. Each week is filled with tons of helpful information and goals to work on. Roger is an amazing teacher! Each lesson felt like my own private lesson!”
The Superior Singing Method is one impressive online vocal training lesson. In my opinion, it is one of the best. I have taken different singing lessons, and I will have my reviews posted here. By far, the Superior Singing Method is one of the best I have ever seen and tried (see our reviews on Singorama and HearAndPlay Vocal Mastery as well).

Most kids and teens get started singing naturally because they have an impulse. School districts or religious communities with choirs that practice 3-5 times per week are the best places to develop the young singing voice. This is where the young ear learns fundamental musicianship, harmony, counting, and staying in tune.
KTVA’s Singing Lessons for Beginners are the exact same lessons we teach our professional singers – when you enroll in the How To Sing – Better Than Anyone Else vocal course, you will start at the beginning and take your time with Volume 1. Ken Tamplin will SHOW YOU (not just tell you) how to use your voice correctly and you will experience a breakthrough right from the start.  You will learn to sing the right way!
Begin with breathing exercises. Breathing exercises will allow you to better control the pitch and duration of your singing. It’s no surprise: singers who can breathe deeply and consistently get better mileage out of their voice.
The Superior Singing Method by Aaron Anastasi is one of the most popular and downloaded vocal training programs on the Internet. If you’ve been researching this program like I have, I’m sure you would have read the testimonials from people who have used this program. I’ve compiled a list of these as it will give you an idea of what the program is about.
Mic check. Christina breaks down the difference between live performance and studio time, as well as the microphone techniques she’s perfected over her career. Then, get a rare glimpse into the recording booth as you watch Christina perform her iconic song ‘Beautiful’.
Some will tell you that singing vibrato is something that just happens naturally. This isn’t necessarily true. It is something that the singer has control over and can turn it on and off. And the singer can also control the rate of oscillation. To slow is called……
You are supposed to blend in when singing harmony so that’s perfect. To make your voice more distinctive sing on your own more to develop your own style. To make it louder work on your breathing and relaxing your neck but keeping your chest lifted during singing.
Drink plenty of water. Drink lukewarm water for best results, as this will loosen your vocal chords. Give your body time to absorb the water. Avoid dairy products or thick drinks such as smoothies immediately before singing.
My teaching style is very laid back, although goal-oriented. We have fun while seeing progress. For piano, I typically use the Alfred Series “Alfred Basics 1 – 6” or the Adult All-in-One for the Older Beginner. In the first 3 – 6 months, one will become familiar with basis technics and concepts behind creating music. These concepts will be the foundation behind learning how to read music, play by ear, and create your own songs in any style.
