A.This diagnosis is best determined by a joint team of a medical doctor (an E.N.T. Ear Nose Throat Specialist) plus a voice teacher in that order. If nothing is wrong either place, you may have to trim your performance and practice schedules.
This is a simple way to practice hitting the right note and singing with good pitching. If you have a digital tuner for your instrument (e.g. a guitar tuner) you can use that, otherwise you can use an online tuner like this one.
This schedule will develop your singing muscles (provided you are practicing proper technique). As they continue to get stronger, your voice will get better and better. You will continue to find new high and low notes. Your voice will begin to function as one instrument, not two or three separate instruments.
Although classically trained, I also sing jazz, pop, R&B and gospel equally as well. I believe that I bring a rare perspective on music and feel uniquely qualified to teach/coach contemporary and classical singers. Students and parents will find my informances accessible, and I will inspire them to realize that their goals are attainable. During voice/coaching lessons, I will help students to improve their si
You can find online exercises for this, especially increasing your upper range by learning the “mixed voice” register. However, it’s easy to strain your voice if you don’t know how to use your muscles properly. It’s best to ask a vocal coach for guidance, or to learn the amazing things you can do with your current range.
Vocal instruction is offered as a weekly 30, 45, or 60 minute private lesson. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons are available in a variety of different styles such as broadway, pop, jazz, christian, disney, and classical. Whatever your goals are, our voice teachers are here to help you and customize a lesson plan for you.

I found this extremely convenient despite my past experience when I took up singing lessons for kids, as Aaron has included some additional information I haven’t learned in school, nor with my teachers. Same can be said for a piano course I just reviewed here: PianoForAll review.
“”Roger Love‘s Singing Academy has taught me how to sing with confidence. His lessons are really easy to follow, even when teaching tricks that I thought only professionals could pull off. Roger is better than any other voice teacher I‘ve had because his teaching style is funny and engaging, and I could take each lesson as many times as I wanted. I‘m really happy I took this course, and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take their singing to the next level.”
Begin with the basic solfege (by sound) notes: “do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do,” while ascending the pitches along with a piano or keyboard accordingly. The object is to decline back down to the pitch “do,” by singing “do, ti, la, so, fa, mi, re, do.”
@bobobobo, people have been singing for a lot longer than 96 years. I don’t see the book’s age as a valid reason for criticism. And there’s no strong reason to trust Amazon’s ratings. You might be right, but you need a better argument… – naught101 Sep 23 ’12 at 13:19
I just had my first piano lesson with Robert where he worked to improve my piano playing technique as well as expand my skills into other areas such as improvisation. The lesson went very well. I look froward to expanding my skills in future lessons.
Joel is not only an outstanding musician, he is also a great teacher! I had the pleasure of taking piano lessons from him and enjoyed every minute of it and learned a ton. His instruction was a wonderful supplement to what I learned at the University. His is very knowledgeable, competent technically and hilarious! In addition to everything he offers musically, he is one of the best people I’ve ever known. Thank you Joel, for sharing your gifts!

Start from an estimated guess as to what you feel the note sounds like to match pitch. Move the pitch of your voice up and down the scale as a siren until you match the desired pitch. You will be able to hear and feel when you meet this match.
Not all singing lessons are created equal. If you have a specific singing style you would like to learn, look for it on your potential teachers’ lists of specialties. Examples include Broadway, country, gospel, classical, jazz, opera, choir, music performance, stage performance, musical theater, and ear training.
View the prospects listed in “tips” before moving on to the steps. The “tips” show certain valuable references on correct singing, such as raising the soft palate, breathing and posture, jaw placement, breath control, and other aspects. The steps provide vocal warm-ups which may be beneficial as part of a vocal training practice. Enjoy!
You have to work through the modules one by one. You need to practice for a while before you move onto the next module. The course duration is about eight weeks, but you will start to see improvements much sooner than that, just like I did.
Hey, I’m a producer not a singer, so pardon me if this answer is a bit on the lines of “A Man with a Hammer sees every problem as a nail”. Maybe part of the problem is the recording and not your voice at all. Firstly everyone’s voice sounds weird to them when they first hear it recorded. That’s something you just need to get used to. Also, if your voice sounds “Unnatural” it might be because the way you are recording it has no reverb. You can fix that by standing further from the mic (especially if you’re standing in a church), or by getting some freebie music recording software that will add artifical reverb. Unless you have a good mic and know what you are doing, you’ll probably get a better result doing it in software. You might want to try adding some compression too. Once you realize you can get a better recorded sound, hopefully that will make you more confident singing live.
In addition to noticing your diaphragm move, think about your jaw, lips, tongue, cheeks and upper palate. Are they relaxed? What size and shape is the cavity inside your mouth? What happens to the sound if you change it? Make very small changes to consider the effects. Does it please you?
After you get a feel for your voice on single pitches or notes apply your knowledge to any song you know. Think about the vowel sound of every word sung and aim for the loveliest version of each one that you can muster. Sing a line at a time. Consider how you attack each word – particularly at the start of a phrase. Try to hit the opening note in the middle of its sweet spot. Also explore what it is to swoop up or down to a note – not always desirable but sometimes interesting.
Some singers have larger ranges (such as Michael Jackson), and some have smaller ranges (such as Taylor Swift). You can find your vocal range by following the simple steps outlined below. Note: you may need the help of a singing teacher to get more accurate results.
Practicing how to sing daily is just logical, right? Simply sing daily. Practice going higher and try out new songs. What’s so complicated about singing? It’s just something you can practice in the shower, right?

At first, I had the same thing in mind but I was mistaken. Aside from what I had already mentioned here, the Superior Singing Method includes a system that enables you to ask the professionals questions or clarifications.
The basic solfege method is a system of symbols for each of the solfege pitches. The symbol for “do” is a fist. The symbol for “re” is a slanted hand with the side of your hand facing towards you, as should your thumb. Your finger tips should point slightly to the left. The symbol for “mi” is a flat hand as if you were placing it on a desk, and the side of your hand should face you once again, as should your thumb. The symbol for “fa” is a thumb’s down symbol with the inside of your thumb facing outward. The symbol for “so” is a flat hand with the palm facing outward. The symbol for “la” is a cupped hand that faces downward. The symbol for “ti” is a fist with the index finger pointing up and slightly to the left. Then, bring your index finger back into your fist to make “do.” You could attempt to master this method by practicing it over and over to gain the ability to symbol the notes faster. This could be an enjoyable and inspirational way to practice, as it helps to signal the notes while singing each of them. See what works for you. 🙂
This unique Guitar Center program matches you with other musicians of similar skills and musical interests, regardless of your playing experience. An experienced band coach will help you learn how to play together, write songs, produce music and be a real band.
The training and education of vocal coaches varies widely. Many vocal coaches are former or current professional singers. Some vocal coaches have extensive formal training, such as a Bachelor of Music, a Master of Music, a Conservatory diploma, or degrees in related areas such as foreign languages or diplomas in human kinetics, posture techniques, or breathing methods. On the other hand, some vocal coaches may have little formal training, and so they rely on their extensive experience as a performer. While vocal coaches without formal training are mainly found in the popular music styles, they also exist in the Classical milieu.[citation needed] For example, a native German language speaker who moves to the US may begin providing German diction coaching to amateur vocal students, and over several decades, this vocal coach may develop a broad range of on-the-job experience in coaching German-language singing styles such as lieder and Wagnerian opera.

Hope that helps!
My teaching approach: I tailor my lessons to fit the students goals. Beginner students want to learn songs, not theory. So I get the student playing /singing before I focus on scales and theory. I want to teach the student what they want to learn as well as giving them the skills to be a good musician/vocalist. I also determine what your learning style is, so that I can effectively teach you in the way you learn best. I have over 14 years teaching experience in guitar and voice, and I teach songwriting and ukulele as well.  I’ve been performing locally and internationally for over 7 years
Hi my name is Kei-shun and I’m a tenor. I have a non straining vocal range from G#2-E4. My music teacher, Daniel Henry, told me that I have the quality of a tenor one, so I sing tenor one. When I was 14 I could sing cheat voice to C5 with no problem. Now I’m 17 I start to strain going pass E4, as if my voice tries to go into head tone. If I sing soft I can sing to C5, but when I sing tenor one in the choir can’t get pass the E4; it would sound throaty and straining. I want to know how could I train myself to sing between F4-C5 with no problem, so I could be a tenor one like I want to be.
If you’re serious about becoming a singer, you’ll have to get used to singing in front of a large crowd of people, and in stressful situations. It’s one thing to sing to yourself in your bedroom; it’s another thing entirely to sing in front of dozens or maybe hundreds of people.
Can you match pitch? If so, just try singing single notes, you don’t even have to know how to play piano, just hit one random key at a time try to sing the pitch. (A good place to start is the middle of the piano and go up if you’re a female or down if you’re a male.) Also, sing what you like. It’s a lot easier to do something that you enjoy. I don’t enjoy basketball, so I don’t play/practice it. That doesn’t mean I don’t get any exercise whatsoever, though. I just do what I find enjoyable.
Private vocal coaching was not the road I wanted to go. I needed someone who can help me become a professional singer. You see, I live in a small and uneventful town (very unlike LA or New York). The local vocal coaches could not help me become a real singer.
You will then move on to Volumes 2 and 3. These singing lessons are designed specifically to last forever.  What this means is that this is not a throwaway course – you can use Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy singing lessons to take your singing voice as far as YOU want to take it – the cool thing is though, you will do it correctly, with a TON of vocal power and without hurting yourself.
yep, its a good program, I was also skeptical at first cos I tried many online training programs and spent so much money and gave up all eventually, nothing really worked for me, I am also an introvert so you can imagine :). one day a friend of mine who is also a singer suggested this program, since I know how well he sing I thought, now what let me give it a try, so Yes, I bought the program, and I am glad I did, it not only improved my singing voice, it actually improved my confidence in singing 🙂 so go for it..
