There is no absolute guideline to learning how to sing. If you want to sing well, you have to continuously and religiously practice, follow a training program that’s right for you, and try to develop your existing talents, with hopes of honing even new ones (new styles of singing, that is).

As @luserdroog said in the comments, it would be best if you could get at least a couple lessons. Otherwise you risk learning bad habits with the physical aspects (that can’t be taught well except in person) that you’ll have to un-learn later.
A. Sometimes due to life choices, an adult with all sorts of talent and music training may stop singing for a while. That might be due to family, or fear, or perfectionism, or just not getting enough good luck at the right time. But because the foundation is there, one can pick it up again and get a really good sound together, and probably have a more emotional performance from all that life experience. This happens because your voice actually sounds different to you than other people. This is due to the physics of sound being carried inside your body as well as outside through the air when you hear it. When you hear a recording you are actually hearing what other people hear when you sing.
So I assume that if you’re reading the GuitarHippies blog you play guitar, probably as a hobby like me – and you like to play around mostly at home and with friends. Now honestly, we all know that singing can really take our “show” up a notch and make people around us enjoy the time listening to us on a whole new level. > The thing is – most people never really felt the experience of singing well and therefore we mostly lack the confidence to do it. So today, I want to share my Superior Singing Method review with you, which will let you do that step up yourself – into being a confident singer who sounds great.

Correct breathing for singers begins with a spontaneous open breath.  Upon inhalation, if ones hands are placed on the stomach – an inch below belly button, the hands will be pushed out by stomach muscles.  The singer’s shoulders should be relaxed and not move up.  Neck and jaw should be relaxed.  Jaw needs to be unhinged.  Phonation begins with the movement of the stomach inward, where one is singing while pulling the stomach muscles in.  This is called “singing on the breath.”  The phonation ends with the release of the abdominal muscles.  It’s important to note that phonation should be ended with the release of the abs and not in one’s throat, which is vocally abusive.
So what exactly should you record yourself singing? The answer is: your repertoire. That’s a fancy term musicians use to mean “the stuff they know and perform”. As a singer it just means a collection of songs you’re confident singing.
I know what you’re thinking. It may be difficult to perform the vocal exercises without somebody there to help you. The uncertainty could even interfere with your learning. Surprisingly, doing the exercises on your own is not a hindrance at all.

Hi, I love singing and I always try to imitate any voice I listen to.. I also have this natural baritone to tenor voice but every time I try using my natural voice to sing to any song I’m listening to I just find it difficult to do so because I feel I’m note hitting d notes right and so I switch to copying the voice. Begin with the solfege symbol “do” while singing the pitch. Hold out this note to the extent of your comfort. Then, sing and signal the note “re” while holding it out. Then, go back down and sing the note “do.” The object is to move on and sing from “do” to “mi,” then “do” to “fa,” then “do” to “so,” then “do” to “la” then “do” to “ti,” then “do” to “do,” or as far as desired.
