Personally, I love all of the products that come from the company HearAndPlay and their Vocal Mastery System is great. I first heard of them when I was trying to learn how to play piano. I bought their course and absolutely loved it. They way they teach you is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It is basic concepts broken down in an easy-to-understand way without too much technical mumbo-jumbo.
There isn’t one definitive amount of time that it will take you to learn to sing. Each student will learn to sing at his or her own pace based on their diligence and natural ability. What do we mean by “natural ability”?

I stuck to the free content when I started out, it took me 7 years before I decided to invest money in lessons. It was that decision that took me from messy amateur to paid pro. 7 years without lessons, what a waste of time!
Deborah is an outstanding teacher with a passionate interest in the improvement and success of her students. Since working with Deborah, my voice is stronger, clearer, more flexible. I plan to continue taking singing lessons from Deborah for many years to come.
Neck – Your neck is a part of your spine. Streamline it with the rest of your spine rather than craning it forward. If you balance your head on your A-O joint, your neck should move into this position.
We have an app called SingTrue for iPhone and iPad which is specially designed to help people learn to match pitch with their voice. It automatically chooses notes in your comfortable singing range and gives you a range of simple fun exercises to practice matching pitch. And instead of the momentary display of the digital tuner, you can actually see a graph of how your vocal pitch varied over time which gives you a clearer idea of how your pitch skills are developing.
Many people are gifted with natural singing ability, but whether you want to become a professional entertainer, a casual performer, or sing for fun, it is important to learn how protect your best asset and to increase it’s potential.
Usually, we progress with a chosen curriculum according to the student’s or parent’s vision and initial overview during the 1st few classes. However, all curriculums are supplemented to enhance student performance and comprehension. Our supplemental material is used to go swifter for material that you grasp well and understand, and slower with more repetition for that that you need more practice, without being monotonous. It is also used to provide appropriate but exciting reinforcement of all material to ensure that material is retained.
It depends on what level the student is on and that is where we will go with the lesson. If you are a beginner we will start with the very basics. I try to make it to where you can easily understand everything taught. The most important part of the lesson is you are having fun with playing the guitar and also getting as much information as possible. Upper level students may want to go over a song they are learning or want to know about theory or chords. Usually we will talk about where you are at with your playing and then go from there.

Wondering how to be a better singer? There’s more to it than knowing how to use your voice. Read on as teacher Tony F. explains… Do you love to sing? Is singing the first thing on your mind in the morning and the last thing at night? If you can answer yes to those questions, you might be whats known as (cue the Star Wars theme music, maestro) a singer. Billy is a great teacher with a wealth of music knowledge and experience! Our 9-year old son is taking guitar lessons with him. Billy has met him right where he’s at, and has made the lessons fun and engaging for my boy. GREAT WORK, BILLY!!!
Even a pro singer like me likes to keep up to date on technique. I first had pro singing lessons back in the early 2000’s, but in 2012 I purchased the 4 Pillars of singing course as I was intrigued by Robert’s technique. His training helped me develop my head voice to be more powerful, and helped me remove resistance in my vocal break.
Without a doubt, you’ll find parts you weren’t happy with. Don’t criticise yourself for this! Every negative thing you notice is an opportunity to improve. Like when you found out you weren’t tone deaf, this just shows that you have the awareness you need to be able to improve. Exciting!
Your posture is a key part of singing and breath-management. If you’re hunched over or sitting down or even just slouchy, you can potentially cut your breath support, and therefore your ability to sing well, in half. I won’t get into all the details of it here, but the basic idea is to keep your chest/sternum high and intake air so that your torso expands below the ribs, on your sides near your oblique muscles, and your lower back, not necessarily just in your belly.
This 10 DVD Vocal Training program is an outstanding product. The course comprehensively explains different aspects of harnessing and mastering singing in a soulful style. I see music as a language. Once it is mastered, it can be shared with anyone, anywhere. My goal as an instructor is to provide my students with an opportunity to discover their own musical potentials. From breaking the ice from playing for the very first time, to perfecting even the most structured and difficult pieces, I feel there are no limits. I feel comfortable teaching in any genre and always tailor my classes to match my studen
That’s all I could say about that. Those mentioned above are some of my absolute favorite online singing lessons. They have something to offer both for novice and experienced singers alike. Check out all the options first, and then make your choice. All of the options are very good, all you have to choose is the program with the learning method that works for you.
A singing teacher will be able to notice and correct bad habits that lead to injuries and negatively affect your sound. Additionally, the motivation and inspiration you can get from this type of guidance makes a huge difference in your learning process.
Breathing is also an important factor in singing. You will produce a pleasant tone if you work with your breathing. Conversely, singing at the same time as you’re out of breath will result in you exerting too much tension on your voice and may eventually lead to injury. If you want to achieve an excellent tone when singing, then you must breathe deeply (don’t inhale with your mouth, rather use your nose) through your lower lungs and exhale using your nose and mouth. Breath support helps to prevent you from straining your throat, and thus enabling you to produce a pleasant tone.
Deborah Staiman has been teaching singing for 31 years and in addition to teaching the classical and operatic vocal production, she specializes in building a strong foundation of vocal technique for singers, who sing the musical theatre and popular repertoire. She combines the best that the broadway and popular music singing techniques and the classical Italian “bel canto” singing technique have to offer. She welcomes beginners as well as professionals for singing lessons and classes at her Toronto Singing Studio.
The most common problems people face are “problems with pitch”, “the crack in the voice” when going from chest voice to head voice, “singing higher notes” and “losing the voice” due to using of the voice in the wrong way. Most people also don’t know there are simple and easy ways to start improving the voice in a real short amount of time.

It’s one thing not to know any music theory and sing easy, beginner songs, but you’ll be at a whole new level if you can improv riffs in a jazz song or harmonize with another singer. This all takes a knowledge of music theory!
A very useful framework for practising vocal control is solfa (a.k.a. “solfege” or “do re mi”). This is a system where you give a name to each note in the scale, which makes it easier to understand which note you’re aiming for each time you change pitch.

Each voice type (soprano, tenor, bass, etc.) has a different vocal range associated with it. Simply stated, your vocal range is the span from the lowest note to the highest note your voice can produce.
So, how do you strengthen your pitch-matching abilities? One method is simple aural drills. Start by playing a note on a piano to find your pitch. Sing along, and then subtly slide your pitch one way, and then back to the note. You’ll start training your ear to hear the varying pitches.
The idea is that like tuning an instrument, you learn to tune your voice. Most digital tuners allow you to play the target note, but if not you’ll also want to have an instrument handy to play the note you’re aiming for. Then you simply use the digital tuner’s display to help develop your “feedback loop”. It provides a visual way to know whether you’re singing too high or too low.
Eric Arseneaux is the creator of the AApproach vocal training method. You have seen his clients on X-factor, in lead roles on Broadway and have been signed to major record labels. He delivers two different courses: phase I “Elite Singing Techniques” and phase II “Becoming A Natural Singer”.
Just bear in mind that HearAndPlay is very much Gospel & R&B/Soul oriented – this fact sometimes throws some people off. However, this does not mean that they only teach Gospel songs, so don’t run away scared now.
Beyond that, improving your singing tone is best done with the help of a professional. Since there are many reasons your tone could be suffering, working with a voice teacher can help you identify what you need to work on — whether that’s insufficient breathing, a limited range, or understanding how to first attack a note or phrase.
Although classically trained, I also sing jazz, pop, R&B and gospel equally as well. I believe that I bring a rare perspective on music and feel uniquely qualified to teach/coach contemporary and classical singers. Students and parents will find my informances accessible, and I will inspire them to realize that their goals are attainable. During voice/coaching lessons, I will help students to improve their si
Last but not least, one of the most important qualities a singer can have is not necessarily a beautiful voice, but confidence! If you are firmly planted on the stage with a relaxed presence, you’re inviting your audience in and opening up your voice.
Start by practicing with a backing track. You can normally find karaoke versions of popular songs on YouTube, or if necessary you can use the regular studio version, singing along with the lead singer. Begin with just a short section of the song, for example just the chorus.
