I still can’t get a vibrato working at all. I’ve been researching forever and just can’t figure out what’s wrong with me. Does my voice need to be stronger first before the vibrato will come? I feel like at the moment i’m simply practicing “laaa” repeatedly with no outcome. My ultimate goal is just have a vibrato, doesn’t even need to be a good one, i just want the experience of having one.
A. Do you brush your teeth? I mean really, it just matters how good you want to appear, not how much money you get for it. If lessons make you sound good, and singing makes you feel good and makes the people that love to hear you happy, put it in your life. This can be satisfying enough, and for many is more satisfying than the headache of a struggling career.
Who doesn’t want more power without strain? This is a simple technique to apply and a bit easier than the one above. All you have to do is to keep your chin pointed slightly down and your pectorals slightly flexed (well sometimes it’s a lot flexed) when you go for more power. Most singers reach forward or lift their chin up to sing with more power. While it may temporarily work, it causes vocal problems. Tipping your chin down not only works better and saves your voice – it actually SOUNDS better! Stand in front of the good ‘ol mirror. Sing an Ah scale up and down in one phrase (1-2-3-4-3-2-1). Press your chin slightly in (point your chin towards the floor) — usually only 1” or so. Don’t let your head bob up as you raise the pitch. Keep it firmly in place. Go all the way up the scale of your voice keeping this position. Notice how your chin wants to move up as you raise your pitch. Keep it planted. This will give you more power and control and eliminate strain. Practice it until it becomes natural!
Without a doubt, you’ll find parts you weren’t happy with. Don’t criticise yourself for this! Every negative thing you notice is an opportunity to improve. Like when you found out you weren’t tone deaf, this just shows that you have the awareness you need to be able to improve. Exciting!

(: As to your question, yes, I also had some experience before taking it and it still helped me out a lot. Doing the exercises every day for 8 weeks will definitely improve you and give you a larger sense of confidence in your singing. As to the price, based on the fact that it’s a full course for the price of two-three lessons with a real teacher – for me it was easily worth it.

And I’m going to be completely honest. I found it hard to understanding the wording in almost all points in the entire article. I think this is the author doing many idea or procedures were explained too complex for me. Even the whole elevator thingy. I want to find good recording tips for vocals. If your child has no choir opportunities, get him/her voice lessons that are gentle and fun, which use a combination of pure singing and easy pop singing. Place the feet shoulder width apart and slightly bend your legs. (to ensure they are not locked, as locking the knees for a lengthy period of time could result in unconsciousness.) The back should be straight. Your neck should line up with the rest of your spine. The head should be not be tilted to either side. Focus the gaze straight ahead, keeping it relaxed.

Always listen to what you are singing. You can achieve this easily by either plugging one of your ears with your finger or putting your hand in front of your mouth. Do not cover it though. Then, change your pitch slightly until you are certain that you are singing in the right key.
A proper warm-up is incredibly important before using your voice, as is staying hydrated at all times, which keeps your vocal cords from getting irritated. You also might notice specific foods that affect your voice. Some singers find that they don’t perform well after eating or drinking dairy, for example.

You won’t go to the hospital for drinking salt water. Salt is in everything. Sure if you drink it in an excessive amount you might get a little sick/dehydrated but that’s it. Other than that good tip for helping soothe a sore throat.
