Locate your diaphragm below your chest and above your belly – buried behind muscle, but detectable when you notice your chest expanding as you inhale. The goal is to direct all of your inhaled air into your balloon-like diaphragm – not your shoulders.

The idea is that like tuning an instrument, you learn to tune your voice. Most digital tuners allow you to play the target note, but if not you’ll also want to have an instrument handy to play the note you’re aiming for. Then you simply use the digital tuner’s display to help develop your “feedback loop”. It provides a visual way to know whether you’re singing too high or too low.
There are several great range exercises to try as you’re working on scales. These exercises should be part of your warm-up before working on an actual vocal piece. You can find many different warm-up exercises in between singing classes on YouTube.

Basically, the throat needs to relax. The best way in accomplishing that is to get the tongue out of the way. The base of the tongue is the cause of most of the problems in singers the root of the tongue lies right above the vocal folds which creates a lot of issues.
Once you have healthful singing down, you can structure your practice sessions something like this. Start with a 20-minute warm up session to work on your breath support, low and high range, chest voice and head voice, arpeggios, diction, or vibrato.
For more power, you often need to learn how to control your tongue. The placement of your tongue can cause problems as you try and sing with more power. If you pull your tongue back, it can block your airway.

Vocal strengthening exercises are designed to push your voice and increase its ability. To continue with the analogy, they would be the workout or the race, whereas the vocal warm ups are the stretch, the warm up.

My musical experience began at the age of 4 on the piano. I have been classically trained for most of my life. This isn’t a “hearing test”, it’s not checking for hearing damage or age-related hearing loss. And don’t worry about whether you have a “musical ear” or not. Theory and Ear-training I feel are very important to learn when trying to understand music. It just gives you a basic mathematical way of understanding how music works. It can be very frustrating to learn and takes some time to sink in so if you don’t want to learn it then that is great. Ear-training is cool because when you start to understand it you can actually hear music and not just listen to it. You can listen to a chord progression on the radio and go home and play it and also improvise over it.
Torso – Your torso contains your lungs, along with the many muscles that help them work. For optimal breathing, balance your torso on top of your hips and allow it to feel large and open. Don’t try to flatten your spine; it is naturally curved and flattening it will hinder your breathing.
The next step is to work on your vocal power. Vocal power requires proper breathing and diaphragm control. Add some breathing exercises to your daily warm-up, and pay attention to correct positioning of your jaw, mouth, and body to help with this.
