Alfred, Your break is perfectly normal. It’s called “the pssaggio”. The way to fix the break is to train your voice with vocal technique the build strength in the pssaggio or “break” area. Singers are like athletes who need to train the small muscles of the voice to improve performance. Start with these https://www.caricole.com/singersgift In time your break will smooth out and your range will expand as a result! Good luck and keep us posted!
Here are a couple of basic things a singer can do to start building a bigger voice: use correct breathing method, engage vocal resonances and master singing on clean stationary vowels. There is a common misconception about how to breathe. Some believe that a singer needs to expand their ribcage out horizontally while inhaling. That is incorrect. This will result in various issues such as limited vocal range, pitch problems, a wobbly shaky vibrato and more.
It is possible to learn the basics of singing on your own, but if you really want to advance in your skills and ensure you’re using proper singing technique, you’ll definitely need the help of an experienced teacher.
A quick look at local colleges versus Ivy League institutions will show you there can sometimes be a huge gap between those Teachers and Professors who have studied a certain field and those who have actually lived it. It’s wonderful to have a degree that makes one more educated about a specific subject, but it’s those who have actually succeeded in the business as Background Singers, Session Singers, Opera Singers, and so on who often make the best Teachers. They know what is going on in the real world and not just in a book or a classroom.
I’m going to give you an exercise and a lesson for singing with good pitch. Those of you who watch American Idol, the word “pitch” has become a household word. We all know what that means when a singer is singing slightly off-pitch. Pitch is something that even good singers work hard to have. You can have a really good musical ear and have a good musical voice, and still go slightly off-pitch. You can have a voice that goes off-pitch just from not being a singer and not using the voice much. The more you sing, the better your center of pitch gets. You want to think of pitch like a circle with a bullseye right in the center. Different singers actually sing and professional singers who have good pitch all have a slightly different center of pitch. So there are some singers that sing slightly sharp, and some singers that sing slightly flat, but not enough to go outside of that circle. So it sounds like its really good pitch, but if you put them together singing in unison, you would even hear that.

First off – this is an expensive program, especially with the monthly payments. But this is a great program developed by Brett Manning, nonetheless. Singers such as Taylor Swift and Hayley Williams of the band Paramore are among those who were trained by renowned coach Brett Manning.
If you are interested in the Superior Singing Method you can get it at the official website (the link is at the end of this review). If you order the course now you can get the basic Superior Singing Method for just $97.
First, read through any instructions and go over the videos. The things you will learn in the first lessons will help you through the next lessons. On the sixth day, you will be practicing all the exercises and techniques you learned in the previous five lessons.
After much research, I have to say that the Superior Singing Method is an effective program that will bring out your hidden vocal talent. The lessons are very easy to follow and as many reviewers have noted, they’re much more comprehensive than traditional singing classes. It’s not just effective but affordable too, so I have to give it my full recommendation.
Two Octave Scales: Provides maximum stretch on the vocal folds. Start in a low pitch and gently glide up the scale on a “me” sound. Don’t push the top or bottom of your range but do try to increase the range gently each time you do the scales. Now reverse and glide down the scale from the top to the bottom on an “e” sound. You can try this on the “oo” sound also.
I know your struggles. I want to be able to sing, not be like, really talented or anything, just good enough that people don’t tell me to shut up. I think any singing teacher would probably just slam the door shut in my face I’m that bad tbh
It’s a good basic singing tool. I’ve been playing the guitar for 15 years but I learnt to sing through my recorder. I ain’t the best at singing especially when I try for a higher pich because I tense my throght and it’s hard to maintain and keep a perfect pitch. I don’t know why people get confuse b…
We all know those few amazing singers who are famous for their wide vocal ranges – Mariah Carey for her five octaves, Ariana Grande for her full voice and head voice notes, and Toni Braxton for those low sultry notes.

Hey good people! My name is Alon, I’m 27 and I play mainly the guitar, piano, and harmonica. In the last few years, I traveled through four different continents with my guitar while performing and teaching music. Currently, I am based in sunny Tel Aviv, Israel. The GuitarHippies mission: To get you to enjoy your musical journeys to the fullest. Cheers!
Many of my friends says that I have a good voice. I am a tenor and I admit I have a good voice and I can reach high notes without cracking but my voice sounds awkward when you hear it in mic and in phone. Please help me fix my problem thank you
A. Sometimes due to life choices, an adult with all sorts of talent and music training may stop singing for a while. That might be due to family, or fear, or perfectionism, or just not getting enough good luck at the right time. But because the foundation is there, one can pick it up again and get a really good sound together, and probably have a more emotional performance from all that life experience. I won’t fool you, it is just a little harder to generate contacts to get your foot in the door. But it can be done. Start practicing again. I say, if you’ve got to do it, then just do it. Read More about what you will learn in Voice Lessons.
If you’re committed to improving your voice and learning how to sing well, you probably already know that there’s a lot more to it than just taking a deep breath and recalling the lyrics to your favorite songs.
Bottom line: It was nice and I did saw some improvement but after a couple of months and hundreds of dollars that were gone, I did not feel I was getting enough of the improvement that I was looking for, and it was way too much money anyways, so I decided to look for other methods. I turned online and researched the different singing courses that are available.
The best part about singing is that anyone can get started without any prior knowledge of music theory, structure, or history. But if you really want to set yourself apart from the crowd, learning music theory will help you become a more knowledgeable, well-rounded musician.
To other singers, a lot more practice goes into achieving that pitch-perfect sound. A good singer must master breath control, posture, diction, stage presence, and more important techniques. Don’t be discouraged though – with the right guidance anyone can learn to sing!
+ They offer a bunch of follow up courses to take your singing even farther – my favorite was the “Superior Harmony” course where I learned how to sing along with other people, recognize different musical intervals that sound best when singing together, etc.

– Not really a con – but the course demands dedication every day (or close to every day) for two months. 10-15 minutes a day is not much and it’s extra time that everyone has, but again – make sure that you really want it and willing to put in the efforts.
Relax. Don’t discourage him from practicing “because he’s going to learn bad habits.” That’s like saying to a kid who wants to play basketball, “don’t practice before you make the team, because you’re going to teach yourself bad habits.” Actually having practiced before seeing a teacher will make what the teacher says make a lot more sense/have relevance/be easier to learn. – bobobobo Jun 3 ’12 at 1:37
HI Alex, You are probably a high tenor voice. It’s best to take some voice lessons and learn how to use it to get it sounding as good as it can. High tenor voices are sought after so I think if you embrace it you will find it is an asset. In the meanwhile download my Singers Gift Warmups to help you lower your larynx and make your voice feel more comfortable! https://www.caricole.com/singersgift
Practice hitting the high notes. High notes are the icing on top of the cake: not always necessary, but really wonderful when done right. You probably already know your range by now, so you also know which high notes you can hit and which ones you can’t. Be sure to practice hitting the ones you can’t yet reach. Practice will make perfect.
Learning how to become a singer — whether you dream of selling out large arenas or simply want to feel more confident at karaoke night — takes time and patience. If you’re wondering how long exactly, read on as Orange, CA teacher Adri-Anne R. shares her insights… When students start voice lessons, they will often ask me, “How long will I have to take lessons before I start to get better?” I have to ask them, “How often and how long are you willing to practice?” In my experien
3 stars because it doesn’t always work… all the sudden my pitch won’t show up on the screen…. that it kind of the whole point. This seems to be because of a sort of crackling that makes it try to decide between a really low pitch or high pitch and it ends up just giving up. I would blame this on the headphones, but they’re from Apple and do very clear audio recordings. Or it just won’t work at all. But normally, the dot will move and twitch between a really low pitch and the pitch I’m actually at

At first, I had the same thing in mind but I was mistaken. Aside from what I had already mentioned here, the Superior Singing Method includes a system that enables you to ask the professionals questions or clarifications.
The Superior Singing Method takes you through 8 steps of high level vocal training with professional, world-renowned vocal instructor Aaron Anastasi so that you know exactly how to improve your voice quickly.
Also consider what you hope to accomplish with your singing lessons. Do you want to be a music teacher? Join a choir? Or is theater performance in your sights? Wherever you want your singing lessons to take you, it will be the most beneficial to you if you choose an instructor with experience in that particular area. The more specific knowledge categories a vocal teacher has, the more he or she can charge for lessons.
In this training you will learn a very effective singing technique called “Bel Canto.” This technique offers unsurpassed benefits compared to other vocal techniques. These benefits include: increased vocal range, greater pitch accuracy, beautiful tone, rich voice texture, unique sound and many more.
Andrew, I don’t believe anyone can teach you how to sing. You have to teach yourself – the same way that you learned how to eat and speak and walk. You have to find your singing voice and then develop it – just like you found your balance on two legs and then learned how to run. Also you cannot be shy about it – it won’t work if you are.
If you are beginning the search for a Vocal Coach, you are probably also just getting started as a Singer. I hate to say it, but there are a lot of shocks, surprises, and quite a few disappointments coming your way. It is simply the way of the world, and certainly of this business in particular.
Sirens/Kazoo Buzz: Improves the resonant focus of the sound and continues work with maximal stretch on the vocal folds. The mouth postures are easily made by pretending you are sucking in spaghetti with an inhalation. On exhalation make the “woo” sound. It will be a buzz like sound. Hold the sound steady for 2-3 attempts. Now use the woo sound to go up and down the scales.
Singing with your head voice, singing with your chest voice and bringing them together in harmony are some of the techniques you will learn in Module 6. Blending these two different voices together and transitioning smoothly from one voice to the other are some of the important aspects you want to learn to become a better singer.
Just below the introduction video, you will see an option to download that lesson’s vocal exercises. One set of exercises is designed particularly for male vocalist and another set for female vocalists (Isn’t that great?)
Pitch is defined as the quality that allows us to classify a sound as relatively high or low, and is determined by the frequency of sound wave vibrations. Knowing how to sing on pitch is what sets apart great singers.
Before the age of 12, the vocal chords have not yet fully matured. Our instructors take great care to focus on repertoire that is fun and enjoyable while still nurturing to the developing voice. These songs may include children’s songs, Disney songs, and pop songs.
SSM wasn’t the first vocal training I bought or tried, but it was definitely one of my favorites. My voice improved so much while I was doing the exercises that I eventually stopped using it (bad idea).
During the 5th week of the Superior Singing Method, you will learn all about resonance and power. Singing with a powerful voice is not necessarily all about volume. It is all about getting your voice out there and catching the listeners’ attention. How you use your tongue and mouth as you sing has a lot to do with power and resonance. Aaron will teach you about the proper tongue placement and voice resonance within your mouth.
