To commemorate his 100th Instagram post, Smith, 49, did something he’d never done before: take salsa lessons from Marc Anthony … Last week he also shared a video of himself singing Spanish track “X,” by Nicky Jam, featuring J.
This happens because your voice actually sounds different to you than other people. This is due to the physics of sound being carried inside your body as well as outside through the air when you hear it. When you hear a recording you are actually hearing what other people hear when you sing.
I know that for me, I enjoy getting to put the spotlight on my students. I also like haveing concerts for my students to be able to demonstrate their skills for their friends and family. I also can work with students of any age, starting at about age 5 through age 100+. My experiences with teaching children gives me the ability to teach even very young students.
I teach group lessons for newborn to 9 1/2 yrs: newborn – 18 mos, 18 mos – 3 1/2 yrs, 3 1/2 – 4 1/2 yrs, 4 1/2 – 61/2 and group Piano lessons for ages 6 1/2 to 9 1/2. I encourage BEGINNERS through EXPERT to at least hear what I have to say. I have A LOT of information to give about the guitar. I played for ten years made 2 demo CDs, one full length album, another demo specifically for Metal Blade Records, was in a big cover band and so I thought I knew it all and was a great guitar player. Then I went to GUITAR SCHOOL in Hollywood and reality hit me.
The key focus here is the voice. This is a classical training method used in the days when people had no microphones. Before the invention of microphones, a singer’s voice had to carry throughout audience. This took a lot of emphasis on tone and resonance.
This 10 DVD Vocal Training program is an outstanding product. The course comprehensively explains different aspects of harnessing and mastering singing in a soulful style. Vocal Mastery covers the fundamentals, but you will also learn advanced stuff such as riffs, runs, and more. Even experienced singers are likely to pick up new tricks from the program.
Start by practicing with a backing track. You can normally find karaoke versions of popular songs on YouTube, or if necessary you can use the regular studio version, singing along with the lead singer. Begin with just a short section of the song, for example just the chorus.
So, how do you strengthen your pitch-matching abilities? One method is simple aural drills. Start by playing a note on a piano to find your pitch. Sing along, and then subtly slide your pitch one way, and then back to the note. You’ll start training your ear to hear the varying pitches.
If you’ve had trouble singing in tune or hitting the right notes when you sing, or somebody has made a comment about you having bad pitching or poor tuning, this is most likely the skill you need to focus on.
A lot of musicians just think they don’t have what it takes and they can’t do anything about it. They just throw in the towels and accept they aren’t really the singer type. But that’s where they are wrong, you can definitely work to become a better singer, a good singer, and some even become great singers. But good is good enough.
When I started, online singing lessons were only just becoming available. Now there are loads to choose from and the quality of the lessons is out of this world. But are they better than getting a personal vocal tutor?
The key to this exercise is to make sure you are listening carefully as you practice. Don’t just rely on the tuner’s display. Try to always hear whether you are too high or too low before checking the display. That way you are gradually developing your own inner tuner so that in future your feedback loop can work directly without the assistance of a digital tuner.

Students who already have a wide vocal range and the ability to match pitch will progress faster than those who weren’t born with these talents. Either way, each of these talents can be developed with the right amount of practice.
A singing teacher will be able to notice and correct bad habits that lead to injuries and negatively affect your sound. Additionally, the motivation and inspiration you can get from this type of guidance makes a huge difference in your learning process.
Do as many or as few hours per day as you want. Practice and study whenever you want, not during the allotted hours of a tutor. Save time and money by being able to learn from home, and not having to travel for singing lessons.
So finally, after a bunch of frustration and getting nowhere. I decided to bite the bullet and try out some of the paid online singing lessons. I could go after the super expensive options like Berklee’s full vocal course – I just couldn’t afford it. So I set out and tried the cheaper lessons. To my surprise – there were some REALLY GOOD options, right up my alley.
Whether you have a musical background or not, singing is a fun and exciting skill to learn. Online singing classes will help you become more confident with your unique voice, and more comfortable showing it off in front of others.
You’ve probably heard the word “tone” a lot as a singer, but what exactly does it mean? Is tone something you need to improve or develop? Not exactly. Your tone can’t be changed; it’s your unique “vocal thumbprint” and is primarily determined by the shape of your head, throat, and sinuses.
With a lot of courses, you can get a refund within the refund period. If the course is not working out for you, get your money back. With a tutor You pay for their time. Once you have the lesson, you won’t get the money back.
Since this was the first time venturing into playing an instrument and reading music, Billy was very patient with me. I left the lesson knowing more about the ukulele, the C scale, and the C F & G chords. I highly recommend Billy.
If you have never had any vocal training, this is a great place to start to get a thorough grounding in all the techniques you’ll need to succeed. The reason I give it 4 stars rather than 5 is because I find the teacher, Aaron, to be dull to listen to. He doesn’t inspire success like Melanie Alexander or Roger Love do. Plus Singing Academy will go beyond the basics (that’s why it costs more than Superior Singing)
By video chat to supplement your learning and give you vital feedback. Singing Academy, one of my top picks for vocal training, has a whole team of tutors to help supplement the course. Get tutoring when you need it, not to a rigid schedule.

What are you saying? Why are you singing it that way? Is that how you want to sound? Is that who you want to be?… etc. I’m not a vocal coach for teaching you technique – I work more on helping you develop a style for recording studio.
Now that you know your ears and brain are fundamentally capable of telling whether a note is in tune or not, it’s time to address the most likely cause of your difficulty singing in tune: an inability to match pitch with your voice.
If you focus only on free lessons from YouTube, I guarantee you will get frustrated. Online lessons give you guidance in a step by step progression, allowing you to move from one exercise or technique to the next. You can’t find this for free on YouTube.
You can also learn how to sing. With this ‘How to Sing E-course,’ we are going to take you step-by-step from beginning to end and teach you about singing: what has been done, what is being done, and reveal to you some practical exercises that you can do to work on your own voice.
